Saved game corrupt?

Post by Aquabreeze on Tue 29 Jan 2013, 21:23

So I had to recently do a system restore to fix some problems with my Sims 3 base game. I copied all my saved game files onto a separate folder, then copied them back into the saved game folder after the restore. All of them work fine except for one; the game senses that it's there, but it's unable to load it, saying that "this game might have expansion pack data that is not present on this system". I have no expansion packs associated with this saved game. What can I do to restore this saved game to being playable?

If I read this right, your saved game could be missing either the World it is suppose to be in or maybe objects?

But this is only a guess.

Hello,

Sorry for the late reply!
I'm not very good with this kind of problems, but when you go to this folder: Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Saves\ , does any of the folders have a ".backup" extension? (Or any other extension)

Hi! Sorry for the late reply as well. There is a backup folder of that savegame, yes, but it seems that I'm missing the "meta" file in both the save and the backup.

Hello,

Back up everything and then remove the "normal" save folder and remove the ".backup" extension from the other one.
Save it and then test the game.
