Animation Problems?

Post by DFTBASarah on Thu 31 Jan 2013, 17:43

I haven't played Sims in a few months so today when I tried to play, I had to update first. After the update, my game animation was really screwed up. Oddly enough it's not my actual Sims, it's the Pets. I can't submit a picture, but it's pretty freaky looking. Their bodies are all scrambled, they have necks bent 90degress and their eyes popping out independently from their face. THey look like monsters. How on earth do I fix this?

Hello,

That sounds familiar, yes: http://games4theworld.bestgoo.com/t2488-the-sims-3-pets-graphical-issues
We can try updating your GPU drivers, not sure whether it'll work, but it's worth trying.
Please provide the following information:

1. Your graphic card model.
2. Your operating system.
3. 32- or 64-bit.

1.AMD Radeon(TM) HD 6520G
2. Windows 7 Home Premium
3. 64-bit.

It's never been a problem in the past so I wondered if the update was bugged.

Hello,

It could also be a mod conflict. Always update your mods when you update your game.

I just discovered that the new patch actually DIDN'T install. So all my content is for the new patch but my game is still at the old one. I keep trying to patch it but I'm getting an Invalid File error.

edit: I removed all my mods and even my saved games. It's still all screwy. I actually bought the base game and downloaded all the expansion packs from here. I've decided to back up the expansions and uninstall then reinstall the base games. My only question is while I have to actually install and do the cracks for the expansions or will I be able to just copy and paste from my backup?

Hello,

If you didn't start uninstalling yet, don't. Steps 2-4 on this page may very well fix this for you.
If you are done uninstalling, don't forget to restart the pc before you start reinstalling, and follow all steps on that page.

Ugh I can't win. If it's not one problem it's the next. -_- I forgot that I had an inperfection on the disk that corrupted the fullbuild0 and fullbuild1 files. I can't reinstall the game. Before, I downloaded those 2 files and applied them manually and that fixed it but I can't remember where I found them. Does anyone know where I can find those files for download?

Hello,

Oh, my bad, I misread your post.
Would it be a problem to download the Games4theworld versions?

No I guess not. My connection speed is so slow it takes several days to download. I was trying to avoid that if possible but at this point I don't think I have any other choice.

Hello,

We might be able to avoid it, I don't know. It's easier if you just download it.
But if you like, I can upload the missing files for you. Just tell me which files exactly.

It never did work. :/ It said the fullbuild package doesn't match my cd. I have really fast internet speed at school so I downloaded Sims there.
one final question, I kept all the game and data files from the expansion packs so will I still have to reinstall them?

Hello,

You mean the installed folders? Or the downloaded files, which you can use to install the game? (Torrent)
