Graphical bug? Strange white squares floating in the garden. [SOLVED]

Post by Remiscan on Mon 18 Feb 2013, 15:12

Hi, here I am again with a new problem to solve! Very Happy

Some time ago, I noticed something strange in my sims' garden. I think the best way to explain is to show you some pictures : http://imgur.com/a/tYdRq
As you can see, there are two white forms floating in the garden. They are always here, always in the same place. They are not solid, sims can go through them without a problem.

Because of their position, I thought it was a bug with the barbecue or the light. I deleted them, but the white forms were still here. I tried changing the graphics settings (light and shadows), but it didn't change anything.

I searched on Google many times, but I couldn't find any graphical bug like this one. I don't know how to make these ugly white things disappear, so here I am, asking for help :p Does anyone have an idea? How could I make these things go away? Thanks to anyone who whill try to help me.

That is most likely a problem with some of the CC you have installed.

Make sure to download CC only from our official MediaFire account found here.

Once you download and install all the CC you want (yes we have all the CC of The Sims 3 for FREE), apply the store fixes also found in the link above and try to play it again.

Good luck and post back if you face any problems.

I tried launching the game without any custom content, mod or anything. With ZERO CC, the problem is still here. I don't remember exactly when it began, but it wasn't because of a change in the custom content that was installed. I didn't install anything new when this problem began...

If when I launch the game without any CC, the problem is still there, does that mean that the CC isn't the cause? Or could the CC have caused the problem and corrupted the save, making the problem stay when I delete the CC?

Something similar has happened in my game before. The only way i was able to fix it was by doing the following:

Do the testingcheatsenabled cheat by pressing:
CTRL+Shift+C and typing testingcheatsenabled true
Then if you press Shift and click on the item (square), The option should hopefully pop up to delete it.

To turn off the cheat, testingcheatsenabled false

I hope that helps any..=^^=

I can not click on the squares, I can't interact with them in any way. The cursor becomes grey when it goes over the squares, even if I press Shift, or CTRL, or Alt, or anything else...

Is the lot downloaded from the exchange or something?

Also, if nothing else works, back up your saved game and delete completely the folder Sims 3 in My documents, Electronic Arts, The Sims 3. Then, open launcher. It will regenerate the folder back up. Then, put only your saved games back in that new folder and try again.

Post results please and good luck!

That's actually a building issue, not to do with cc or anything. It happened to me once, and after I completely remodeled that side of the house (not removing items, just moving them around, but deleting walls and the roof and such) the white spots were gone.

Oh, I went into Build mode and I just deleted the white squares by clicking on them. I previously tried in Buy mode, but I never thought of using Build mode...

Thank you for helping me Very Happy Problem solved!
