sims data migration info

Post by Bosco90 on Fri 08 Mar 2013, 09:30

Hello there!
i don't know if this is the correct section to post this, in case is not i apologize!

I've a couple of questions.
first is a stupid one xD i've to change my operating system, windows 7, from a 32bit to an 64bit so i can use all 8GB of RAM i have, the torrent of the sims are compatible with this right? i don't have to download them again on a different place!

second, to make this change i've to erase everything on my disc but i don't want to loose all the added content i already got from you! so if i want to backup all my sims3pack file i just need to copy the download folder in documents/electronic arts/sims3 so that after the new game installation i can just place it back and re-install everything trough the launcher, correct?

thanking you for the great work you made everyday for us i'll wait for your answers!
Have a great day!

The torrents are compatible with 64 bit, they just will run as if it's still 32 bit since they are programmed as a 32 bit game(as I understand it, anyways).

And if you have the space, I'd back up your saves folder, along with your downloads folder. Razz But yes. As long as everything you have downloaded wasn't removed, you can just copy that over, and reinstall the objects. Smile If you're like me, however, you'll have to redownload all of it.

Unfortunately we were not able to get back to you in time. I'd like to apologize for that.

Do you still need assistance?

I have absolutely no trouble running the game on Windows 8 64. So, it's probably a combination of computer specs and the operating system.

Hello,

Yes, the game should work fine on all Windows XP+ operating systems. Just be sure to follow these instructions at all time: http://games4theworld.bestgoo.com/t1171-must-read-how-to-install-the-sims-3-correctly and RE-DOWNLOAD both the manual patch and the Ultimate Fix.

Good luck and please let us know the final result!
