The Sims 3 Stuttering/Freezing

Post by adam380 on Mon 18 Mar 2013, 14:41

Hi everyone great forums love the g4tw uploads, however The Sims 3 seems to hate me.

My computer in theory should run this game with ease but when I play I get some horrid stuttering and freezes, the game can freeze for up to 20 secs randomly and continue after and the stuttering is pretty much constant.

This makes the game pretty much unplayable and having spent so much time making my awesome house its annoying that I can't enjoy it.

At the moment I'm running the Sims 3 base game from Origin I purchased the base game, and then I have almost all the expansions except 70s,80s,90s stuff pack.

I have no mods or anything else installed apart from expansions.

Anyone else having this problem?

Computer Specs:

1tb hdd for storage 80gb for os
Gtx 660ti power edition
8gb ram 1333 mhz

Does the freezing occur with the games from G4TW or was it the case with your base game before?

I assume your drivers are all up to date?

It could be if I am reading this properly a conflict from using the brought game with the torrents, thus meaning the fixes conflicting with the standard .exe files etc.

With you saying no mods installed and no CC, this has helped us to determine that it is not a mod issue and wish to thank you for saying as much so early on in your issue.

Hello,

See this article about game lag.
It doesn't happen because of mixing retail&pirated, it's just The Sims 3.

Ah that's a great guide there Lady, I always thought Bridgeport was slow, now I know why.
