Eternally Loading

Post by idyll on Fri 05 Apr 2013, 03:04

Well the problem started the other day. I had a family with twins and an older son when I was going to send them off to college. The loading screen for when they're moving to the college is there but it loads all the way to the end only leaving a little left and doesn't go any further. It's not like the screen freezes or crashes or anything though. The hints and tips still cycle through and the music still plays. I searched the forum here thinking maybe I was having long loading times but then I left the game on for about 7 hours to load and it never loaded. Not sure what it could possibly be though... I've had other families previous to this go to college no problem, even the father in this family went to college.

I had this problem with loading in general. Do you have lots of mods/cc? It can really slow down your game.

I don't have anything like that. It just started recently and I thought it was because I was sending 3 people to college together. I tried again a few days later and it did the same thing. Then today I tried sending only one person and it did the same thing.

I have all of the expansions from here but not many of the stuff packs. And thank you for trying Smile I'll just wait and see if someone else could possibly help.

Ok so I went through deleting files based on articles I searched up and then I decided to try and go to college on another family and it worked. A while back when I had tried to save my game on my main family it said it couldn't save so I just saved as and made a new save file. As I was looking through my save files I saw the previous file I had that I couldn't save over. It had the familyname.sims3.bad and it's the only file that has the .bad so does this mean it's corrupt and all of my subsequent saves are somehow corrupt and that's the reason why my family can't go to college? Because I tried to send them again and it won't finish loading :/

Hello,

You won't be able to load a corrupted save so that'll be of no consequence to the game you're playing.
You say you tried it with another family, was this in the same town?

Ok, I sent another family and they went with no problems. It's just my main family. And the town is TwinBrook.

//EDIT

There's no one who can help me with this?

Hello,

I'm not sure what to tell you at this point. You don't have mods and it's just that family. You could try to evict them, and place them back. See if that works.
