Problem with Sims 3 Supernatural. [SOLVED]

Post by pelirroja on Sun 14 Apr 2013, 00:34

I have the base game, Ambitions, Fast Lane Stuff, Generations, High End Loft Stuff, Katy Perry's Sweet Treats, Late Night, Master Suite Stuff, Outdoor Living Stuff, Pets, Showtime, Townlife Stuff, and World Adventures from you guys for my mac. I just bought Supernatural from Origins yesterday, downloaded it, installed it, and applied the crack, but Supernatural isn't coming up at all. I click on the application itself and it won't load up. It's not even listed on the launcher as an app that I have. I tried moving the app over to the folder where I have my other expansions and stuff packs installed, but it's not registering.

Has anybody else had this problem or any ideas on what I can do? I've taken out my mods folder completely to see if that will help, but it's still not showing up on the launcher as something that I have. :\

ETA: Just tried it again after a restart and taking out my mods folder, and the most recent Expansion or Stuff Pack registering is Katy Perry's Sweet Treats.

Did you apply the fix, or the crack included with supernatural? Also, did you move the installation files? If so, that would be a big issue, as the game then doesn't know where to get the information to run the game.

I moved them after it didn't work, but then I ended up moving them back because that still didn't work. I applied the fix that came with the Ultimate Fix folder, followed all the instructions. I've since deleted Supernatural, and I'm going to download and try reinstalling it after I get enough bandwidth from my internet to download it again.

I got the game (Supernatural) from Origin, downloaded it from there, so I actually bought that one, but it was installed in a completely different folder than where I told it to be :\ I'll try reinstalling it, like I said, and then reapplying the ultimate fix.

Re: Problem with Sims 3 Supernatural. [SOLVED]

Sorry! Thanks for moving this for me. Well I reinstalled the game, and Supernatural shows up, so that's fixed! However... I'm now getting an error that says "There is a problem connecting to the server. Please ensure your internet connection is active. If the problem persists try again later." So close and then I got that error when it was loading up. I did some research, and the consensus seems to be to disable your firewall, but I don't know if I have one... I use Sophos Anti-Virus, if that helps.

Any suggestions?

ETA: I checked with my firewall that's built into my mac, thank you Google for letting me know it exists, and added Sims 3 into the permissions. I still got the error.

//EDIT

So I left it a little time then played a hunch and plugged my ethernet
cable into my computer. That must've fixed it because I was up and
running, if a little more slowly than usual. I took out most of my CC
except the ones I really wanted to keep, and that seemed to help.

Just
a summary for anyone else who ever has this problem, when the game
wasn't showing up, I uninstalled then reinstalled Supernatural in "The
Sims 3" folder in Applications where my base game was. When I got the
network error, I added Sims 3 into my firewall's permissions then
plugged my ethernet cable into my laptop instead of just using wifi and
that boosted the signal enough to connect to the EA server.

Could you please mark this solved, dear mods? Thanks for all of your help!
