There was an error during startup. Please see the Log for more details. HELP! [SOLVED]

This is my first post on this forum, and I'm sorry to say it will be one full of complaints and pleads for help.

I bought The Sims 3 a few years ago, and have installed a lot of expansion packs since then (both bought and cracked). They've all been running fine and dandy up until the most recent patch was released, and now, every time I run the game, I get this error message: "There was an error during startup. Please see the Log for more details," and the game launcher crashes.

I've uninstalled all my Sim games. When I reinstall the base game, it runs great UNTIL I update it. Then, I get the error message and crash. Tried calling EA for help and they didn't do a damn thing. I downloaded and updated the base game version you all provided (and the expansion packs), thinking maybe it was the game EA had provided that was crashing--but nope, it crashes too when I update it to the lastest patch. This leads me to believe that it's obviously something to do with my computer.

Can anybody help me out? I'm at a loss here, and I miss my game! Sad Any help would be VERY MUCH appreciated!

Hello,

Please try the following (If you've already installed one of the games, just skip that step):

1. Install The Sims 3 base game. (If you've already installed the base game, ignore this step!)
2. Install Outdoor Living Stuff.*
3. Install Late Night.* (Ignore the Installation Guide which says you need to reinstall everything)
4. Install any other expansions you like. (For WA, just skip the "# Crack" folder)
5. Apply this fix: http://games4theworld.bestgoo.com/t752-the-sims-3-latest-fix-should-fix-most-of-your-problems
6. Your game should be working fine now!

* = These expansions must be installed in order to make the game work.

Good luck and please let me know if you still have any more problems!

The fixes do not fix the problem unfortunately. Way too many people are having problems it would seem. I've installed and reinstalled over and over to no avail so far. Nothing I do is getting the game to work.
