Error when launching the game =( [SOLVED]

Hello, I am new to the forum. I really want to play Sims 3 Supernatural and Seasons but when I install them put the ultimate fix, patched the game before putting the fix I still get an error "Unable to start game Service initialization failed (0x0175dcbb)" when I launch TS3.exe/TS3W.exe Sad When I launch Sims3Launcher.exe then it pops a window with the text: There was an error during startup.Please see the Log for more details ... I have downloaded Sims 3,Sims 3 Seasons and Sims 3 Supernatural from here. That's what I do. Install Sims 3, Supernatural, Seasons, patch TS3_1.50.56.0210xx_update , put the crack from # Crack from The_Sims_3_fix and launch but fail... I did this around 5 times. I once tried to put the crack from "University Life & 70s, 80s and 90s Stuff & Seasons & Supernatural & Diesel Stuff & Katy Perry's Sweet Treats & Showtime & Master Suite Stuff & Pets & Town Life Stuff & Generations". I put the cracks to D:\Games\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Game\Bin . I have installed BlackBox's before but I uninstalled it and used CC Cleaner after that. PLEASE Help me I really really want to play! Sims 2 was my favourite game before! I really want to play Sims 3 Sad Please! Help me! confused confused confused confused confused

Hello,

Welcome to the forum!
Unfortunately, the blackbox edition is a registry menace and it wouldn't surprise me if there were still registry entries somewhere. Those are causing your problem.
You'll have to uninstall everything I'm afraid, and look for those registry entries.
I have no idea where to look for them though, you may want to ask Admin. I'll ask him to look at this topic, check back later for his reply.

What you need to do is download and install the base game to the default location, I had this issue when I tried to install one off the packs.

For some strange reason the expansions ontop of blackbox do not recognise black box however all the expansions will/should work when you install the base mode.

Also some fixes that EA suggest however try the above first as that cured my issue.


  • Remove your User Files
  • Update your Windows .net Framework and make sure it's turned on.
  • Make sure your Windows is up-to-date
  • Clean you Registry with CCleaner
  • Defragment your computer.
  • Reinstall your game .
  • Run the game/launcher as Administrator.
  • Make sure you have enough disk space.
//edit: Also add the cracks to both the ones under blackbox and also EA directories

Fields, Thank you for that post! Sorry for wasting your time tho but I did all the stuff above except defragmenting and that will take over 6 hours on my pc. I will first wait to see if Admin could solve my problems! Thank you again =) Razz
