Launcher issues

Post by atrain1 on Sat 08 Jun 2013, 20:56

I recently installed late night after downloading pets and university. Now when i launch the Sims 3 launcher, it shows up, says "windows is checking for a solution", then closes 2 seconds later. I can go in to the games folder and open it from there but if there is some fix for the launcher i would prefer to do that.

Your launcher may just not work for you then. It's a rather testy piece of the program, and often doesn't work for people. There's not much we can do outside of having you re-install the game.

Hello,

Is it just the launcher that causes trouble ? Can you still get the game running by double-clicking on the TS3W.exe ? In Windows it's located in C:/Program files(x86)/Electronic Arts/The Sims 3/Game/Bin (= that's the Sims 3 base game location).

If you could run the game that way, it would be a good start. However, you probably can't (un-)install Custom content in the ".sims3pack"-format anymore, but we will get to that later (if ever).

Hello,

Two other things you could try:

1. Install Origin from www.origin.com/download (Don't ask me why, but it sometimes tends to help)

2. Back up and remove this folder: Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\

Hi !

I have the same problem with my launcher.
I have installed sims 3 + pets+ university following your really great page about it : MUST READ Very Happy
The installation is ok now.
BUT when I tip on the launcher, it opens, and then I have a message (in french, I tryed to translate it) : "An error occurred while Starter. Please see log for more details."
Even if I double click on the TS3W, the game is not running...
I do not know why... I have followed your installation guide step by step

I need some help, please !
