Need some help, but not sure if I can be helped

I'd like to just clarify that I had to buy The Sims 3 and all the EPs, because my new laptop wouldn't let me download torrents. I only figured out how to, AFTER I had bought all the games. So I'm not really sure if any of you can help me. But EA/Origin won't help, so you guys are my last hope.

I got a new laptop about a month and a half ago. I downloaded The Sims 3 and all the available expansion packs and was using Origin to launch them. I was having no problems. I stopped playing for a while, and pre-ordered the new Island Paradise EP. Now in my library, it only shows Ambitions and Island Paradise.

 I pressed play, and it needed to update. But I get to the end of the update, and an error message pops up saying "File not found". So I can't update my game to play it anymore. AND all the games (except Ambitions and Island Paradise) are missing. I tried refreshing, and it didn't work. I looked through my order history, and they're not listed there either. I need to use an activation code for each game, but I don't have them. I have no idea what's going on, and would really appreciate any help considering how much money I spent to get these games...

Hello there,

Have you already downloaded the "Manual patch" ? It's available here: http://games4theworld.bestgoo.com/t1870-can-t-update-the-sims-3-to-v155-fix-manual-patch-updated. Apply this patch.

Then, download the "Ultimate fix", available here: http://games4theworld.bestgoo.com/t752-the-sims-3-ultimate-fix-should-fix-most-of-your-problems

Keep in mind that if you update with the "manual patch", then you only need the two files that are in the #crack sub-fodler of that fix (TS3W.exe + TSLHost.dll). These two files go into the folder location C:/Program files(x86)/Origin games/The Sims 3/Game/Bin.

Then try starting the game.

I can use the patches and fixes even though I didn't torrent the games from this site?

I think it worked. Very Happy The game loads up just fine now! Thank you SO much! EA/Origin was NO help whatsoever...

EDIT: It seems that every time I exit the game and then go to play it later, I have to use the manual patch and then add the crack. Otherwise, it asks me for the activation code again. I guess I can deal with that, but it's just a nuisance.

There were activation codes that I tried to use, but when I entered them in I got a message saying I didn't need them. Or they weren't usable where I was trying to use them.

Could you upload a screenshot of this message that says "you don't need the activation codes" ?

To make a screenshot, press Prt Scr which is ( USUALLY ) next to F12 , on top of Insert , and next to Scroll Lock. Then you open, for example, a program like "Microsoft Paint" and select the option "Paste". Now you should see your screenshot - then you save your picture.

To upload a picture here, click on "Host image", then select your screenshot, and the resolution "1024 x 768". After that you should get the URL (the "internet link") for that picture. Now you go to "Insert image" (the symbol on the right next to "Host image") and paste the URL.

My mistake. It says this. And that's the same message I get for every activation code I have that I try to use.

Strangely enough, after I posted that I stopped getting the message. Though there's still the problem of why my games won't appear in my Origin library. And why my activation codes won't even work to begin with.

I still haven't heard anything back from Origin/EA, and it's been almost two weeks.

Where exactly did you register your sims games? On the sims website or through origin? Because you can only activate them once so either the sims website OR on origin.

and how did you contact ea? Though mail? cuz i usually go through the american site and get the chat help. They have to answer anyway.

I bought them through Origin, and play them through that client. It never asked me for an activation code when I installed them. That's why I was confused when it suddenly asked for one, and then said it had already been used.

I had to post on their forum because there was no other way I could contact them. I tried looking under their help section, and all that is is just questions that are "somewhat" related to my problem.

And now I'm having trouble with trying to get my single sim to check into a resort. She gets to the front desk, and then the game freezes. I have to pull up task manager to end the game. In a house with two sims, I don't have that problem. But I've only tried it once with the two house sims.

Sorry if we cannot help you with activation codes, which in fact are the problem consisting of EA. You should in fact call a game advisor or chat with a game advisor to solve this issue.

As for freezing, have you tried this? And you can always rename this folder to check if mods/CC are conflicting with each other or are corrupted.

then type in your problem and press enter. Then there should be a link that says i still have trouble. Then normally it should allow you to contact them through the chat. You need to log in with your origin account to get help.

Seems you gt the help. There is another option. You can re install all the expansion including Sims 3.
