Sims 3 is not replacing the update, instead saying space is full?

Sims 3 is not replacing the update, instead saying space is full?

I downloaded the patches and crack and all that I followed the instuctions but when I go to drag the base game into the bin it says no more disk space instead of replacing what's there ):
won't let me remove anything to make space either...

Oh, have you installed the game?
If so, you shouldn't be copying it on the install disc but where it installed on your computer. Usually it is C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Game\Bin.

 okay I did that and now it's still saying to insert a disk l:
