moving in family - crash. [CLOSED]

Post by vixengrrr on Mon 12 Aug 2013, 10:47

**** I have tried finding posts about my issue and found nothing that helped me.

I had problems running the game without crashing to desktop but that was fixed thanks to help I got here.
Now it runs fine, until I move in my family.
It will always crash.
I have tried the DEP fix, I have tried lowering graphics, I have tried playing in window mode,
I tried moving the sims 3 folder. Nothing helps.
I'm running on windows 8 /64 bit

I never had trouble before, I had all the expension packs installed and it worked fine. ( before installing IP)

Thanks for your help!

Try to delete the cache then restart your game.

Hello,

Can you go to "Edit town" and save the family to bin? That way, your family and your family's biography and so on will not be erased. Afterward, start a new save and try with this family.

Hello,

Does this happen to only one family?

Yes, this happens with the family I create only. If I move in the families already created by default then it works. What can I do to fix that? Thank you!

The family is probably corrupt, did something technically "weird" happen when you used that family?

Hello,

Did you use any Custom Content (e.g. hair/clothing) to create that family?

Nope, I created the family right after installing. So no custom content no mods, nothing. It works now. I simply moved in a random default family and then through edit town chose my family (the one I created) and looks like it works - for now ... bounce
