Error messages when trying to launch the game

Post by dimovski on Sun 18 Aug 2013, 18:38

Hello,
These error messages occur whenever I try to launch the game : Error during startup (via launcher) / Service Initialization failed (0x0175dcbb)(via .exe)
I've tried the possible solutions to these but I could not get it to launch. I am aware that these happen with corrupt registry files  or ones from already deleted expansions, which I do not have. I've tried manually uninstalling the game (Documents,Uninstall files,Control Panel,Registry) and then re-installing, but it still shows the same errors.
-I did not allow the game to update through the launcher(When I tried to install an expansion), instead I used the manual patch (which was suggested on *How to install Sims 3 correctly* thread here )
-I did get EA download manager, as it said that the game cannot receive patches without it;
-I made sure to RE-apply  and RE-download the patch after I installed the desired expansion (only supernatural);
Where did I go wrong? Thanks for reading
Kind regards.

Hello,

Have you already seen this here ? http://games4theworld.bestgoo.com/t6052-error-during-startup-see-log-for-more-details-fix

Also, I would afterwards try to re-do the steps from 2 to 4 from here: http://games4theworld.bestgoo.com/t1171-must-read-how-to-install-the-sims-3-correctly

And if this doesn't work, then I suggest you try - again - a manual clean un-install: http://simswiki.info/wiki.php?title=Game_Help:TS3_Uninstall

Although you might have tried that already, I have no other explanation for this problem. If done correctly, a clean un-install would basically solve that problem.

Good luck !
