Serious lag

Post by ophiliakhaos on Fri 30 Aug 2013, 22:13

Hello,

My issue seems to be that everything in game works fine, no lag, no glitches UNTIL I am literally 5 minutes into game play where My sim freeze's. Everything around them keeps moving, music keeps going, but my sim itself just stops, an no matter how long I sit an wait for it to start again It just doesn't.

I have maybe 13 cc's, 10 of which are hair an the rest are nrass since I do youtube videos an they are needed for challenges. I don't have fraps running so I know that's not causing it. I even un-installed some stuff packs an it's still doing it. I've read some similar topics, tried clearing caches, thumbnail, an even uninstalled an reinstalled the game. Still 5 minutes into game play Blam frozen sim.  an I am pretty much at a lose as for what I need to do an what's wrong. Please someone help me.

 Thank you

Hello,

Does "My sims freeze" mean the screen freezes or the sims are stuck? Can you explain more clearly?

I can move the mouse, but that's the extent of it. I can't perform any actions. My sim is frozen, but things like the bushes outside are moving, everything but my sim. An like I said I can't make her do anything. I can't even bring up the cheat to try an reset sim.

Hello,

Does this happen to only one save? Can you launch a new save to see if there is any difference?

Hello,

Please try all the solutions mentioned here, especially 4GB patch program and cmd prompt fix.

Hello,

Can you rename this folder and try again: C:\Users\(your computer name)\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3 and run the game again to see if there is any difference?

Renaming the folder made me lose all the store content areas like dragon valley, an the rest. Even doing that it still lets me play for 5 to 10 minutes then just freeze's up.

Hello,

Store content can be recovered by moving the DCCaches folder from the old renamed folder to the new The Sims 3 folder. Have you tried to create a new save (preferably with different worlds and different sims)?

Hello,

Since I suspect you have forgotten/didn't know you should clear leftover registry/files after uninstallation, I suggest you uninstall the base game and all the expansions via Your Uninstaller Pro with Super Mode(which can be downloaded from www.games4theworld.org). Afterwards, follow this piece of guide and try again.
