Post by Nox on Sat 02 Jul 2011, 17:12

And I stumble on another what seems to be a great website, I hope everything goes well.
I enjoy playing video games very much, and my PC (Windows 7) being the only mean I have to play games, its not surprising that Id be found here.
Anyways, hopefully my stay will be enjoyable, and I look forward to meeting most of you.

-Good Day-

Nox is a character from a french show.
I was researching on NOx gasses when I found this character.
I read his story and I was fascinated by it, also loving his appearance.
Since then, in just about every forum, I adopt the name Nox.

Thank you for all your welcomes, it seems like a good community here.

Interesting, I didn't know that. I immediately thought of the adventure game Nox that I played 10 years ago.

I have to admit, that avatar caught my attention when I first saw it. I'm an avid play by post role-player so I always noticed great characters when I see one. It somewhat reminds me of Professor Stein from Soul Eater. He has a more sinister look, yet he still seems like a good character.

Good character as in morally good?
If so, Im sorry to say that Nox is the main antagonist of the story.
Heres a basic resume of his story:

Currently, Nox is completely driven by insanity.
200 Years ago, he lived in what seemed one of the most perfect and loving families anyone could ask for.
Unfortunatly, he became increasingly depressed how he couldnt financially support his family.
Making debts to pay other debts, things obviously didnt look good.
In a cave, while looking for Igol, his dog, he found the Eliacube, a cube that contains an enormous amount of energy, like a battery.
In the name of research and as hope that could help him pull his family out of poverty, he researched the cube days on end.
He started to completely neglect his family, and soon they left him, telling him where they were and that they were ready to welcome him to their new home when he was ready.
Unfortunatly, the message came too late, and he discovered that the island where his family moved had sunk.
With his newfound powers from the cube, he seeked through the world for them, only finding their tombs.
There, he was completely devoured by insanity, believing that the cube spoke to him, promising him power beyond that of Xelor (a major god in charge of keeping time as it is).
With said power, Nox hopes to return back in time to see his family again.

The ending of the story is unexpected, and very sad.

At best, Nox is a sympathetic villain, otherwise he showed no hesitation to kill.

At the ending the hero uses the cheesy "Power of Friendship" thats supposed to vanquish anything.
The result was Nox literally frying the boys brain.
He then succeeded turning back time, but he only had enough to go back 20 minutes.
Before the soldiers could get to him in his powerless state, he teleported to his families grave, where he turned to dust.

I honestly love the story, it carries much more originality since what Iv seen in a long time.
