Problems started again with my Sims 3

Post by Rawena on Mon 04 Jul 2011, 19:46

Hello

Everything started again with some new problems. Now One of my sim disappeared, I can see his square but not his face, and I can't click on him.
Other thing: I am not able to do anything with them. I send the to do things and they just jump out from the actions. (I had this before: http://games4theworld.bestgoo.com/t1388-problems-with-sims-3-unable-to-interact-not-aging-solved )
New thing: I couldn't save my game Crying or Very sad an error message appeared, something like this: "An unexpected error during saving the game: code 16. See details in the read me file"
Well I didn't find the read me file so I don't know what does code 16 mean...
Is it an EA bug or somthing else?
I'm so sad..... Sad

I have all expansion packs with the newest updates. (My versions are 1.22.9./2.17.2./3.13.1./4.13.1./5.8.1./6.5.1./7.3.2./8.0.152. ) I used your version of the base game and Generations (some of the other expansion packs are from G4TW too, some not)

This I can help you with. It is an EA bug and its solved by renaming your save game. So next time you encounter this error, use "save as" instead of "save", add a number to it, or rename, it doesn't matter as long as there is something different. I have had this particular problem myself and renaming the save game did the trick. Next time you start the game, use the renamed save, delete the old one.

You're welcome.
One of the other mods or Admin may have the answers you seek. In the mean time, you can try renaming your savegame, maybe that will solve the other problems as well.
If you do a Google search (try googling sims 3 error code 16) you can find more about this problem.

I did it, also on my own language but I still doesn't know what that mean. I understand it, but I don't have that deep knowledge in computers to know that.
I will start a new family tomorrow and if that also start acting like that I will try renaming the saved game.
But it really pissed me off that this happened again... Although I reinstalled the base game...

Hello,

This might be interesting for your new problem: http://forum.thesims3.com/jforum/posts/list/125651.page

For your other problem, try putting all the in-game details on the lowest settings, restart the game and see if it makes any difference.

No I don't have. I never applied those things.
I just downloaded and installed the pure games. Can be any Custom content / mod in my game this way? I mean could it installed itself with one of my expansions? (sorry if this a stupid question...)
All in all on purpose I don't have those.

Hello,

Hmmm... My last possible solution:

*Backup your savegames!

1. Uninstall everything related to The Sims 3 + All expansions.
2. Restart your PC.
3. Reinstall the ® Games4theworld version of The Sims 3, but DO NOT apply any cracks yet!
4. Reinstall the ® Games4theworld version of The Sims 3: Generations, but DO NOT apply any cracks yet!
5. Reinstall the ® Games4theworld version of the expansions you like (optional), but DO NOT apply any cracks yet!
6. Open the launcher and update the game to the latest version. (Note that you NEED the EA Download Manager in order to update!)
7. Now open the .rar file for The Sims 3: Generations, which you needed in step 4. Inside the .rar file, open the "# Crack" folder.
8. Drag & drop the .exe and the .dll file in there to EXACTLY: C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Game\Bin and choose "Replace" on the pop-up that appears.
9. Now start the game and see if it works.

Good luck!
