Roaring Heights Currupt Saves

Post by KhanVe on Fri 27 Dec 2013, 04:17

A few days ago, I downloaded and install Roaring Heights, plus the Boardwalk.  I have found that can get in the first time, edit the town to my liking, and save it.  When I attempt to load it afterwards, however, the bar gets to the end, stops for about 6 minutes, and then the Sims crashes, no errors are displayed. I have done this with 10 neighborhoods, so it isn't something odd I have done, that I know of.

Current Sims Install:
New Install (4 days ago), Sims folder in My Documents delete before hand.
All Expansions and Stuff Packs
Fully Patched
Using the current Ultimate Fix
CC: All store items up to, and including, November. (Installed using Package Files rather than Sim3Packs)
Mods: November's Store Fix, Current No Splash mod

Hello,

Are you using any Mods within your game?  If so, we ask that you please run the game without using any CC or mods.  This is only temporary, to test your game and ensure a Mod or malfunctioning Custom Content file is not messing with your save-game/neighborhood.  If you've gone this route already and are still having a problem, please delete your game's cache.

Go to:  My Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 3/

Once you are there, delete these files:  CASPartCache.package, compositorCache.package, scriptCache.package, simCompositorCache.package and socialCache.package.

Once you've deleted these files, please reboot your game to test it.

Let us know if you need anymore assistance!  Smile

Removed all CC and Mods, aside from the neighborhood, and deleted the cache files, then restarted.  I created a new neighborhood using Roaring Heights, saved it without making changes, exited to the main menu, attempted to load it.  Progress bar made it to the end, froze, then crashed.

Hello,

I'm not exactly following what the main problem is you are having from this post and your original one.  So in other words, you are suspecting corrupt save data or that perhaps there is a problem saving/modifying Roaring Heights?  Because from what you've said so far, it seems as though there is more than one issue.

Considering you've run the game without CC or Mods as well as deleted cache files, there's not much more to do other than:

1)  Make sure your game is patched to 1.63 with via our 'Manual Patch'.  [ In other words, did NOT let the launcher update your game on its own. ]
2)  Uninstall and reinstall the neighborhood, Roaring Heights.

Other than those two things, and perhaps even re-appling the Ultimate Fix once more, I'm not sure what else to tell you, honestly!  You have taken steps that are normally always an insta-fix.  It may just be an issue with your download and/or possible corruption with either you installing it or when you downloaded it.  In other words, you may want to re-download the neighborhood.  It's very easy to torrent something and/or download it within your browser and have the file in question become corrupt.
