DC Cache conflicts

Post by Duhamel on Mon 27 Jan 2014, 18:17

First, thanks for all that you do.  I'm usually able to fix my problems just by reading the forum, but not this one.
Whenever I install sims 3 packs, whether from here or the store, I get conflicting dc cache files, especially if I install certain worlds or lots.  I discovered this because, after installing a world, my game wouldn't start.  So I scanned it with the Sims 3 dashboard, and found that all my dc cache files conflicted with each other. When I removed them, the game started right away.  I've tested this several times, and get the same result every time.  I wasn't having this problem until about the time Dragon Valley came out.
Any thoughts?  I don't understand why these conflicts are happening, I can't install any sims 3 packs without it happening now. (Package files make the game unbearably slow, so I prefer sims 3 packs.  I only install world and lot files anyway.)  I'd appreciate any help, thanks.

I am sorry to say this, but there is no easy way to solve this issue.
The only thing you can do is delete the folder and re install all custom content from scratch...

I have, even took out my sims 3 folder, repeatedly.  For some reason, it still happens.  Barnacle Bay conflicts with Dragon Valley, Dragon Valley conflicts with Midnight Hollow. I don't see how that happens.  Thanks for your quick response though.

Where did you get the worlds from?
Also, did you get the Store Fixes?
Try to delete the WorldCache folder...

Not sure if DV came from here or Sims TG, but I now have it from both places so I could test both downloads.  Same results with either.  I applied new store fixes from G4TW last week.  I have all worlds, and all came from G4TW, except DV, of which I have a copy from here and TG, as I mentioned.
I have deleted world caches several times also, as well as dc back up, which also conflicts with my dc caches. This happens on both my laptop and my desk top. I'm afraid I'm I'm looking at a reinstall, which would be a pain.  I'd have to move the expansions from my flash drive to each PC...takes days.  Thanks again.  I'm downloading the latest Ultimate Fix, so maybe it will help somehow.

No it will not. Nor a re install of the games.
I suggest uninstalling all your worlds, then deleting all cache, CC and world files, then re installing them...

I have, and it doesn't help.  That makes the game run, but it just happens again if I install a sims 3 pack.  Since starting with a new sims 3 folder does nothing either, I don't know what else to do.  I can live without the stuff I guess, it's just irritating to not be able to figure this out.  It happens on my friend's laptop also, and she was using my sims 3 packs, so there must be a connection there.
Thank you for your help.  If I do figure it out, I'll post it.

The base game on my desktop is a download from the store, the one on my laptop I bought at Wal-Mart.  Five  expansions I purchased from Wal Mart, (WA, UNI, LN,Into The Future and Pets), the rest came from G4TW. All stuff packs came from G4TW also.

Ok. Be careful that the Ultimate Fix does not work with Steam, and you need to put it in C:\Program Files(x86)\Origin Games\The Sims 3\Game\Bin if you got an Origin version.

Not yet, I'm downloading the 1.66 and 1.67 patches, then I'll apply the latest fix.  If that doesn't help, I'm going to do a full reinstall on one of my PC's.  Hopefully that'll fix it, though it'll take a few days.

Hi there, I applied the fix to both my PC's, sadly, it didn't help.  All was well until I installed Aurora Skies Gold and Dragon Valley Gold.  Now, even the store fixes from G4TW are conflicting with my DC Caches.  That's new...  haven't done a re-install, I just don't have the time right now.  If I do and it changes anything, I will let you know.  Thanks for all your help and advice guys.

//EDIT: Ok, so I still have conflicting files, but the game is loading and running now.  So perhaps the Fix did something?  Don't know what happened for sure.
