Game Region Incorrect. [SOLVED]

Post by Anarande on Thu 30 Jan 2014, 11:26

So I installed the base games first, and went for World Adventures. But when I'm on the 5th step and clicked the first .exe file there it says that the region is incorrect, and I just don't understand why, I'm bad at this, yes.
I live in Sweden, and installed the base game in English, but in Swedish region, is this wrong?

It looks like this.

Hello,

First of all, please do not follow any installation guides from any of the G4TW torrents regarding The Sims 3 expansion packs. They are mostly outdated.

Second, you can manually adjust the registry key so that The Sims 3 World Adventures can be installed. Hold the Windows Key + R and type "regedit" (Without quotes) and hit enter. A window might pop up asking for permission to run registry editor. If so, click "yes".

After that, in the registry editor, navigate to:

(1) Computer >> HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE >> SOFTWARE >> Sims >> The Sims 3 (if you have a 32-bit computer)
(2) Computer >> HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE >> SOFTWARE >> Wow6432Node >> Sims >> The Sims 3 (for 64-bit computer)
Don't open the folder Electronic Arts in the registry editor!!!

Now, double-click SKU and change the value to 2. Reinstall The Sims 3 World Adventures.

After installing The Sims 3 World Adventures, take a look at this: http://games4theworld.bestgoo.com/t1171-must-read-how-to-install-the-sims-3-correctly . Make sure you follow this precisely.

Good luck and let us know if you need anything else.

I changed the SKU value to 2, but I still can't install World Adventures. And if the instructions are outdated, what am I supposed to follow then? :c I'm sorry to be so bothersome but I'm really very confused.

//EDIT: If I do follow this step "3. Open the '# Crack' file in this .rar file and open 'Crack 1'. Run the 'sims3patch.exe' and
follow on screen instructions. Change the 'C:\Program Files\Sims 3' to:
'C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3' before Installing the Patch!"

It looks like this.

I can still change the folder and stuff, because it's not exactly hard figuring out which buttons to press.
But it still feels like it's wrong.

Please do not double post.
It definitely is wrong...
For this, you SHOULD follow the guide provided with the torrent. There is a section called "Change the SKU" or something. Please use it.
On the other hand, do not use the crack inside the torrent. Use the Ultimate Fix instead.

I am guessing you've got this torrent elsewhere? There should not be something like these.

Nope, they're all from here.

EDIT; It seems to work now, thanks for all the help! On to all the other packs and expansions!

Hello,

You should try different numbers, aka 3. 7, 9 when changing SKU as well.

Hello,

That's the setup window for one of the patches included in the WA torrent. It's no longer needed, which is why you may not have seen it before, but yes, this is correct.
Since TO seems to have fixed the problem, this topic is now closed.
Don't hesitate to post if you have questions again and happy simming The Sims Plumbob 1
