Invalid File Found. Tried FIX repeatedly. [SOLVED]

Post by spacejason3d on Fri 05 Aug 2011, 01:46

I've spent a couple days going through the other threads on this topic very carefully. I've tried the ultimate fix to the letter several times. When the update happens it still gives me the "Invalid File" error toward the very end of the installation. It's going too fast for me to tell exactly what folder it stops on.

My theory is that I accidentally dropped a file in one of the bin folders somewhere in my earlier attempts at cracking. I just can't tell which file that might be.

So I made a screen capture of each of my Bin folders. Hopefully you can tell if there is a file in here that shouldn't be.

I'm completely open to trying anything, even if I end up feeling like an idiot.

Thanks for your work.

//EDIT

actually after watching the words scroll by at headache-inducing speed a few dozen times, I'm pretty sure the last thing showing when the error hits is Game/Bin/TS3.exe. I've very carefully moved that file from the Base Game folder in the fix .rar to Game/Bin.

One other thing I noticed: on the launcher, all my installed game icons are showing except for Town Life. It's there but it's still translucent, as if I don't have it installed. But I do.

Having the same issue here when trying to update to the new 1.24 patch.

//EDIT

Check out the post here - http://games4theworld.bestgoo.com/t1655-updating-from-123-to-124

It might be related to the actual patch file and not something you did/didn't do.

Oh man I hoped that would work so bad. Alas, same error, same exact place.

//EDIT

Stop the bus. It worked. I tried a different file from that same patch site.

SOLUTION: Go to www . patches-scrolls . de and download:

The Sims 3 patch 1.24.3 (for all Regions) 26-Jul-11 647 Mb

Thanks Telanna!

Mod edit: Problem solved, topic closed.
