The Sims Medieval - No disc even after expansion & fix

Post by tonyeah on Sun 15 Jun 2014, 19:55

Hello. I've been going through several pages of this site looking for an answer to my problem, but so far I can't seem to find a solution. I found threads with similar problems but they weren't of any help.
I installed The Sims Medieval & Pirates and Nobles + the ultimate fix. The game is also completely up to date.

I've installed everything correctly as I'm not really new to this process, but regardless I get a "Insert disc"-message and options to either retry or quit the game, but it doesn't show up until after the first loading screen. I also tried to launch the game via. the TSM.exe instead of the launcher, but that didn't work either.  Wat.

I really wanna try this game, and I've installed and un-installed it about two times hoping that if I had made a mistake without knowing, it would be fixed - but nothing works.

Thanks in advance, hope you can help me out!  Very Happy

Did you...

0) Download the base game and the Pirates & Nobles Expansion Pack from games4theworld.org
1) Install both the base game and P&N
2) Download the Ultimate Fix from games4theworld.org or mega.co.nz (where the goo.gl link leads to)
2.1) Extract the Ultimate Fix .rar
3) Copy the files from the "Medieval" folder in the Ultimate Fix to [installation folder of the base game (so not the P&N EP)]\Game\Bin
- replacing the files already there, before updating (#4)
4) Update the (base) game to version 2.0.113.00107, either through the launcher or by downloading the patch from patches-scrolls.de (a website with a lot of patches for a lot of games) and installing it, before applying the crack (#5)
5) Copy the files from the "# Crack" folder in the Ultimate Fix to the [base game (again, not the P&N EP) installation folder]\Game\Bin
- replacing the files already there, after updating the game (#4)
6) Launch the game with TSM.exe and not the launcher

...?

0. Yes I downloaded both the games from Games4TheWorld
1. Yes
2. Yes
3, 4, 5: No I have not, but I will un-install and try this method
6. Yes

I'll post an update after I've finished, hopefully it will work. Thanks a lot for quick reply.

//EDIT

I did all the steps you told me to, but it still refuses to work. I get the same "Insert disc" message.

A more simplified way would be to install the base game first. Then update the game either with the launcher, or use the update that is included in the "Pirates/Nobles" expansion, under Support/Updates.

Next, install the actual P/N expansion. Then use the fix from here:

http://games4theworld.bestgoo.com/t916-the-sims-medieval-ultimate-fix-should-fix-most-of-your-problems

Please make sure to apply the #crack correctly. The location is C:\Program files(x86)\Electronic Arts\The Sims Medieval\Game\Bin. Please REPLACE all existing files.

//EDIT

As the previous poster said, it's a good idea to start the game with the TSM.exe in C:\Program files(x86)\Electronic Arts\The Sims Medieval\Game\Bin.

Actually my solution is not 100% the same as the solution from this other user, but that's not important now. From my experience on here (now it's almost 1.5 years since I started as a "Sims Helper"), I can tell that in 99% of all cases, people have done something wrong, so they either didn't patch, or put the #crack to the wrong place or did something else wrong.

The thing now is this: there aren't any many other explanations left. You may try to de-activate your anti-virus completely, and re-apply the Medieval Ultimate fix. And you may even add the location of the Medieval base game to the "exceptions" of the anti-virus software. But that's it.
