Mods problem

Post by NorthSnow on Sat 05 Jul 2014, 13:13

Hello everyone. I have a little issue about Mods on The Sims 3 game, actually everything works good except some mods, they have different icons in the folder and therefore doesn't show up in the game either. Hope you can help me, thanks! Made a screenshot as well

The changing of icon doesn't matter. The most important is the extension (.packages )
If the mod doesn't work, have you check if someone reported the same problem where you found the mod ( on MTS I guess ? ) Maybe it is stated somewhere that it can conflict with another mod ?

It also has different type. This one has the type just "Document" and therefore doesn't work. Working mods have type "Unix file" and work grate. And yeah, it happens with some mods, not only that one. So, i don't know...

From the screenshot, the extension is good, which is why my guess would be a conflict between mods.
I don't use them much except the NRAAS ones, those I'm pretty sure they work.

You can try to delete the cache files in your Documents>EA>The Sims 3> folder
More info here ( http://www.modthesims.info/wiki.php?title=Game_Help:Sims_3_Delete_Cache_Files )
Those files are created by the game so deleting isn't a problem. It might resolve the problem but mods aren't sure by nature.

The last solution I see is to launch your game while adding one mod at a time, than you'll see which one is causing conflict.
