Sims 4 Unable to start [SOLVED]

Sims 4 Unable to start [SOLVED]

Following a successful installation of both game and fix the game did not start giving the following message.  Unable to start. The Sims 4 is already running. [ed35e0ea]. Task Manager does not show game in use.  Help would be appreciated.

Hi there, guessiputthis, and welcome to the Games4theworld Forum! Smile

Did you look into the Processes tab in the Task Manager? It's possible that it doesn't appear in Applications, but there may be a The Sims 4 related Process in there.

Another alternative is to restart your computer and then try again.

I've thoroughly looked through task manager, nothing sims related is running. I've alo tried restarting. I have uninstalled fully and re-installed twice and yet I get the same message.

Are you sure you configured all (!) your "security"-software correctly, so that it doesn't interfere with the crack-files of Sims 4 ? This means, did you add the install location of the game to the "exceptions" of the anti-virus program(s) ?

I have definitely configured my anti-virus. All folders and sub-folders that would ever contain anything related to the game have been excluded from scans.

Would you mind actually telling us what anti-virus program(s) you have ? That may give a clue to your issue, in that you should try un-installing your anti-virus basically, but beyond that, I'm afraid I cannot help you further. If you really want to play the game, maybe another team member can give you more support on this, as I myself am leaving shortly (for vacation). And I won't be on here much for the next couple of weeks. Sorry again.

I'm using norton 360. I had the game (downloaded from G4TW) with the same installation of norton before but I had to get a new hard drive so I lost all my installed games. 
I've done some research into the issue and other people (who I believe have bought the game from origin) are having the same issue.

Sorry for the very belated reply, but I've been away for a very long time. If you still need help on that, you should consider getting rid (i.e. un-install) Norton 360. And then trying to run TS4 again.

Eventually I re-installed windows to see if the problem was a one time thing (I had  used the G4TW version before). This fixed the problem. Thanks for all the help.
