Sims 3 just stops working

Post by poppydreams on Wed 12 Aug 2015, 15:45

Hey, I need some help:
I have made all the changes in the DEP, I have updated the game, I did the ultimate fix, but it keeps crashing 5 minutes into the game.. and I don't know what to do. I've had TS3 here before and it happened sometimes but it gave me more than 5 minutes. I don't know if TS4 (wich I also have) may conflict with the game..
Also, I have all the expansions, store updates and worlds, if that's a factor.

I'm running it on Windows 10, btw

Help, please

Hi there! It seems Lady ElDi is facing a similar issue, but her game won't even open.

Do you have custom content? Please, try renaming your folder "Sims 3" inside of "Documents/Electronic Arts" to something else, then run the game (it will recreate those folders again, without your content and saves, of course).

If this fixes your problem, you will have to see which item of yours could be damage, it could be a saved game or a custom content/mod. You will reinstall them by copying them manually to the new folder "a few per time", then you will find out which stuff is causing the issue.

Please, let us know how things turned out, if you got it fixed or if we can help you further somehow.

Happy simming!!!

Hello,

It appears that my problem was probably fairly unique Wink
See if any of the solutions on this page help at all. But before you try anything, update all your hardware drivers! This is especially important when it comes to your graphics drivers.
