The Sims 3 error

Post by Christa7615 on Fri 02 Oct 2015, 23:38

Hello there!
So today I've been trying to download The Sims 3 Pet Expansions, but to no avail.
I've gotten to the point where even though I have it installed, when it comes up to choosing which household to play, I get the error stating something along the lines of my version not being a valid disk, and to call customer support.

I've looked and looked, but can't find exactly what I'm looking for. I see that there is the "Big Fix" and "The Crack", but it seems in order to fix, there has to be a "The Sims 3" folder, which I apparently don't have. So I have no idea how to try and fix this issue without it.
Since I got the Sims starter pack when I first bought the game, would I have to put the fix in another folder or something?
Please help!!

Here is a screenshot of what I see when I'm trying to figure out how to fix it...

Maybe your base game is inside of Origin folder instead of the Electronic Arts? If so, you need to apply the fix there to crack your base game into letting you run without a disk.
