64 Bit .exe doesn't work. [SOLVED]

Post by Mr777Nick on Wed 30 Dec 2015, 19:21

I can't run the 64 bit exe no matter what I do.
It says that "origin thingy" window when I opened it.
The game runs fine if I open the 32 bit exe though.

I know I'm not a tech savvy but I'm not a noob either. I know how to workaround the antivirus with the crack, I know how to run the exe as administrator, and that sort of things.

FYI, I'm using v1.13 for now (used the Get Together v1.10 and then update the base game only to v1.13 with the patch on this site).
This problem also happened when I was still at v1.10

Thank you. I tip my fedora.

Hello,

Errors such as this are indeed caused by either Windows Defender and/or your third-party anti-virus system(s). You will need to configure all your exclusions properly and/or turn off these system. Then, re-apply the "Get together"-files from Games4theworld (plus the "hotfix" that I described here).

@Mr777Nick, if you can run the game fine for now, with the TS4.exe, then it is good enough. The only difference between those .exe files is in the RAM usage. The TS4.exe can use up to 4GB of your total available RAM, and the TS4_x64.exe can use more than 4GB. The latter will only be relevant though, if your computer has lots of RAM installed.

Sorry I didn't reply sooner.

Seems like something is messed up with the registry or something.
A complete reinstall of the game seems like to fix it, I uninstalled the game and then installed Get Together straight after the base game.

Back to the game now.

Actually, it's recommended that you install "Get to Work", before installing "Get together". In your case, just copy & paste the files from Get to Work, over your current installation. Replace all existing files when prompted. After that, please re-apply the files from Get together, and you're good to go then.

Because just installing Get together straight after the base game will most likely cause various in-game issues.

That's, actually right.

Without installing Get to Work, I got numerous missing icons and textures.
It got fixed when I install GTW and then reinstall GT.

So just install base game + Get to Work + Get Together, and you're good to go!
