Sims3pack/installed world inaccessible or wont install fix.

Hello all,
If you’re having trouble installing sims3packs, clearing the cache’s might do the trick for you. This applies to worlds and sims3packs that either fail to install, won’t show up in game, or keep uninstalling themselves.
It does not, however, apply to files that fail to install due to a “software failure”, these files are encrypted and have to be decrapified. Those files may be found on mediafire and if the object or set you’re looking for isn’t there, they may be requested.
Clearing the cache’s is done as follows:
1. Go to My Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3 folder and back up the following folders: DCBackup, DCCache and Installed Worlds. Simply copying these folders to the desktop will do for now.
2. Open your launcher and uninstall all sims3packs, and close when finished.
3. Open the folder My Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3 \DCBackup and delete everything in there, except for ccmerged.package.
4. Open the folder My Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\DCCache and delete everything in there.
5. Open the folder My Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\InstalledWorlds and delete everything in there.
6. Open the folder My Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3 and delete the following files: CASPartCache.package, scriptCache.package, compositorCache.package, and simCompositorCache.package
7. Open the launcher and reinstall all of your sims3packs.
8. Start your game and enjoy!
If you’re using ccmagic, you can use its option to clear the caches in stead.
If you're using the Create-a-Pet demo, uninstall it to see if that makes a difference.

Not necessarily have many files in the folder DCCache something is wrong.
If you install the entire contents of the store at once you will have 2 .DBC files with ~1 Gb.
If you install, for example, separately each month you will have several .DBC files with ~200 Mb.

Lady, you are a doll. Seriously. This CC problem has been killing me for the past four days and no matter where I searched, nothing seemed to work. I was minutes away from uninstalling the game and starting over. But now I can enjoy and not need to worry any longer! Thank you so much!! You're wonderful!

Can I ask this solution be edited to include the bit about uninstalling
the create a pet demo... I almost missed that bit, and had looong
forgotten I'd ever installed it. Saw the other thread, got curious, and
sure enough, there it was. Thanks so much!

Thanks so much for this! I was getting really worried my game is messed up. Now the previously missing (but seemingly installed) objects/lots have appeared in my "communal lots" again and I can resume my town-building

after getting the missing lots back I noticed a whole bunch of objects missing, so I posted my problem in appropriate (in-game problems) forum thread

Just so everyone knows, be sure to back up your Downloaded .sims3packs from the downloads folder as well, cause uninstalling the items from the launcher also deletes the items from your downloads folder as well.
