Game freezes after adding mods. [SOLVED]

Post by lephanaji on Thu 14 Jan 2016, 18:26

Hello!
I just got The Sims 4, applied fix and everything was working fine then I got out of the game and decided to add 2-3 mods (they are compatible with the game version). When I tried to play, it just freezed on loading screen, I got out of the game, deleted mods in the folder and also cache, ran the game and it still continued to freeze.
Help me please!

EDIT: I deleted The Sims 4 folder from Documents and did everything again (launching the game, creating a sim, building a house) everything was perfect so I exited out of the game, tried running it without putting any mods in yet. It froze, it just froze on loading screen without adding ANY mods or cc, it said it wasnt responding.

Hello again,

Did you install "Get to Work" and "Get together", after installing the base game ? This is necessary. You can get those expansions from the site here. Follow the included instructions in those downloads.

Remember: the recommended installation order as of now is this:

1) The Sims 4 base game
2) "Get to Work"
3) "Get together"
4) The small hotfix (see the other topic here).

Then try the game again. Good luck !

Problem solved! Thank you for helping, I guess you can't just play the game without expansions.

EDIT: Everything was working fine, but now there are glitches, wow yay me. My sims won't eat, they just start randomly dancing and when I tell my sim to paint, she just stands up where she is and painting just shows up, all done, without her actually painting it or going close to it. WHAT IS HAPPENING?

Sorry to hear about that. So you did actually install the items in the recommended order (see my previous reply) ? I can play the game just fine, with all DLCs. You shouldn't give up as of now. Smile

If you want, give the tips in the following topic a try:
http://games4theworld.bestgoo.com/t21728-the-sims-4-crashes-freezes-causes-shutdowns-possible-fixes-updated-on-17-12-2015

After doing these things on my own system, my game maybe crash/froze 2-3 times, and that was since the official release in September 2014. Feel free to keep us posted if you want. I will leave this thread open.

Yes, I installed everything in correct order, but it turns out that MC Command center messed with my game so she couldn't have any babies, so I removed MC Command center, she gets pregnant now, but when she gives birth babies don't appear, it's like she gave fake birth, no babies at all, like not in family tree. After she gave birth, she just reset self to spot behind and that's it.

My game doesn't crash at all, like I've been playing for hours without crashes or freezes.

Sorry for the late reply @lephanaji,

I'm tempted to consider that as another in-game glitch, that will hopefully be fixed in a future game update. If you feel like it, try making a temporary new savegame, and play on there. See if you encounter the same glitches.

Beyond that, is there anything else we can help you with, in The Sims 4 ?

No thanks, not for now (thank God). Everything is working fine, for now. Have a great day.

(Sorry for my late reply, I got into The Sims 4 too much; doing 100 baby challenge, but my way and also getting cc and mods, I totally forgot to check this post)

Mod edit: no worries ! Very Happy  Feel free to get back in touch with us again, anytime. Have fun for now ! Problem solved, topic closed.
