Sims 3 Crashing

Post by jewellz on Sat 05 Mar 2016, 08:49

Okay, so I have tried the ultimate fix and so many other things I found online. Nothing works. Here's my problem. I can load the game and play for about 15 minutes(no more than maybe 25/30 minutes) and then it crashes. I use crash log analyzer and I get this 'Max Memory Used'
 Processor Name: Intel(R) Core(TM) i3-4130 CPU @ 3.40GHz

 Processor Architecture: AMD64

Graphics Processor: AMD Radeon HD 7800 Series (2 GiB)

 Crash Address: 0x006ee5f0 "C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Game\Bin\TS3W.exe":0x0001:0x002ed5f0

I also included the xcpt text file. I have all my CC merged using CCMagic(except for the files in my overrides folder. I load the game by bypassing the launcher and using RadeonPro Profiles tool. I did DEP thing. I have most of my game settings on low(except for maybe 3 or 4 or them).
I'm getting frustrated and ready to throw my comp out the window, lol
The crash I get says 'The sims 3 has stopped working' and the other part is 'the sims 3 into the future: ts3w.exe application error the instructions at 0x005ec091 referenced memory at 0x00000014. the memory could not be read. click ok to terminate the program.'
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello,

Personally, I can't really make heads or tails of crashlogs. You may want to check your CC for bad ones you may have added recently.
Also, try this page.

How exactly did you apply the "4GB patch" though ? You need to open it and apply it to the TS3W.exe in the base game location C:\Program files (x86)\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Game\Bin.

And you should also check out this here:

Ok thanks for the link Carlos. I'll check it out now. well I just redid the whole 4GB patch thing again. The way I am/was doing it is I would open and apply it to the TS3W.exe. Then when its down and I get the option to click 'OK' or 'Another File' I go ahead and do it for all my EP's and SP's. Am I not suppose to do the others? I notice the folders of each one there is a backup file left after I apply the patch to the .exes

If you needed to apply it to the other .exe files, I would have mentioned it. Wink  But no, while it should not hurt to apply the patch to the other .exe files, you only need to do it on the TS3W.exe in the base game location.

Also remember to force vertical synchronization "ON" permanently. This can also help reducing crashes. As an alternative, you could try playing the game in windowed mode too, and see if crashes happen less frequently.
