Vote for a new server resource pack!

Post by night_lights on Fri 01 Apr 2016, 11:01

If there is a resource pack that isn't up there but you want it to be considered, comment it. People who want to vote for that resource pack can quote your message. I guess the poll can end when there is a reasonable amount of votes.
If you don't know what one of the resource pack looks like, just google it or look at my post with resource pack recommendations Smile

I've voted.
As a side note: I would want to use that resourcepack with a custom TNT texture. It's easy enough to change.

They all look terrible to be honest..

But to each his own, even if his own looks terrible. Problem is, given how unstable Minecraft is in general, are you sure a higher resolution texture pack is a good idea? Let alone an HD one?

Well I am. Every time I'd warp to spawn with the resource pack my framerate would drop to 5 FPS.

Never have I had a problem with it, and I have 2 of the most bottom-end computers for gaming. A Windows 7 PC I got in 2010 and a MacBook that is not made for games. And these texture packs never gave me a problem. Without the texture pack I would have 40 fps but with it I always have around 36-38 fps. It's not a huge drop, and never affects my game.
What you are saying makes sense, yet it doesn't apply to me or any other people who have used these resource packs that I know of. Everyone has their opinions, that is yours and I respect it.

It's not a huge drop because the current texture pack is only 32x. Flows HD is only 64x and 128x.

But as long as it's optional I don't give a toss . Can I change my vote?

Please don't cheat the censor system Razz
I'll see what I can do about letting someone change their vote. Not sure it's possible, though leaving a comment should suffice, given the fact that I don't expect so many votes that a comment will be overlooked.

Vote cancelling has been (re-)activated, dawg. Very Happy  @Edin Eldi, see the option here. Edit the post/poll, scroll down a bit, click on "Yes" where I put the arrow, and finally save the post.

//EDIT

Personally, I would still go for the good old default look of the game. Razz

I don't use the server texture pack because of the glitches lol, I use Flows HD :3
Also if you know a better texture pack with less lag, you can comment it and then people could vote for that one as well.

Not 100% sure if this would work online, but it would be cool to have. Would replace that god awful furniture mod y'all currently have that's always making the server act funny.

It's essentially the same thing as MinePainter minus the painting. You can sculpt any block into any shape you can think of, possibilities are endless:

http://mods.curse.com/mc-mods/minecraft/231095-chisels-bits#t1:other-downloads

It's a little awkward to use compared to MinePainer, but it works just as well and it's updated to 1.9.

If I understood correctly, the problem was caused by an outdated plugin, that was not compatible anymore with Minecraft 1.9. Plugins...can add a lot of fun to the game, but relying on third-parties to keep them up-to-date can be risky at times.

I use Chroma Hills 1.9 as my client resource pack and have been since 1.7.9 after switching from Arestians Dawn.

It has a nice mix to it where its realistic but still keeps to Minecraft's cartoon/game elements.
