Hello @ROOT13,

Yes ! The Sims 3 can be installed just fine on Windows 10. I myself got Windows 10, and installed the base game as well as all expansions, stuffpacks and store content too. Also played, with no problems.

Make sure to download & install all available Windows updates though, and as for The Sims 3, have another look at the guide here:

Feel free to post back in case of further questions. Good luck !

So the piracy check doesn't mess it up?

Which "piracy check" ?

The only thing I noticed was the annoying Windows Defender, which cannot be turned off directly, unless you also use another (third-party) anti-virus. Of course, that doesn't have to mean anything, but as of now my impression is that this whole talk of "anti-piracy measures" in Windows 10 is mainly a scare tactic employed by Micro$oft and various media outlets.

I myself am using lots of pirated apps on my Windows 10 system, with no problem whatsoever. If, however, you are still concerned about the future, try using Windows 7 instead. I still like Windows 7 the most, in terms of its usability. Smile

So far I haven't had any problems with any "piracy check", nor with Windows defender for that matter. It always politely asks me what i want to do with all those Trojans that are, in fact, cracks. I've never had Defender mess with my cracks on its own.

If you wish you can turn Defender off
Search for No Defender on the internet.

There is no "piracy check" like that when installing sims 3. You might be thinking about sims 4. It depends on the program itself and whether or not that program goes through a check. I installed The Sims 3 and have never had an issue so long as you follow the setup exactly as the guide explains it. I hope you enjoy your game. Happy Simming!

Hello,

Maybe you need to look in program files (x86).
If you can find it, please open a topic for more personal support.

Piracy check is only for Windows store games. But The Sims 3 and The Sims 4 aren't Windows store games so you don't have to worry about piracy check. Only thing that can mess up any pirated game is antivirus.

The only Sims-game sofar that is affected by anti-virus is the Sims 4 for 32-bits Windows. (files rld.dll and RldOrigin.dll).
I expect that if/when Dine Out becomes available in pirated versions it won't contain files that are regarded as virusses. (like Sims 4 for 64-bits)

I think a good compromise here is to "never assume anything". Very Happy  As a matter of fact, I've seen cases in which users did experience problems with TS3 and TS2 too. They are not so common as with TS4 but do happen.

Also, what most people don't seem to realize is that with many commercial anti-virus software, you actually have the option to "report and submit suspicious files". So from a technical side it doesn't matter anymore how a crack is made up. If someone - not sympathetic to piracy - reports our Ultimate fix, then chances are the file signatures are added in a future update of the program. I myself have seen occasional problems (in Sims 4) even with my exclusions set correctly, but then, just re-applying the files should do.
