Pets graphics glitch. [SOLVED]

Post by KenikoSim on Tue 26 Jul 2016, 02:28

I just got the Sims 3 Pets expansion but it's glitchy with the actual pets, there are parts of their bodies that are missing or stretched. I heard it could be my graphics card but I have no idea how to fix it. Here's the info for it from my computer:

Name: Mobile Intel(R) 965 Express Chipset Family
Manufacturer: Intel Corporation
Chip Type: Mobile Intel(R) 965 Express Chipset Family
DAC Type: Internal
Approx. Total Memory: 358
Current Display Mode: 1280 x 800 (32 bit) (60Hz)
Monitor: Generic PnP Monitor

Hello,

Welcome to the forum.
It certainly sounds like the glitch that occurs when your graphics card isn't supported for Pets. There is a list of supported cards, but if yours isn't on it, it doesn't mean that it doesn't work. Can't access the link at the moment, I see the site is down for maintenance. I can check it later myself, or you can have a look, this is the link to the list.

I upgraded my graphics card to the latest version, as far as I can tell. It has gotten better but now there is a problem where the body will be sort of... faintly doubled? It's almost aligned with the proper body so not very noticeable, but there is an outline of the body that is a bit lighter/more transparent. I don't think it will cause problems in-game, hopefully, so I'm going to try to play and see if anything else happens. Not sure if it's related, but after upgrading all my Sims 3 settings were at default (music on, loading screens, life settings, ect.)

Hello,

Your settings will often revert to default after updating the drivers.

I think it is most likely that it's not going to get any better with your current graphics card. There's no harm in playing like this, though it can get annoying.

I can play like this fine. The first glitch I couldn't play with because they freaked me out, but this is working good enough that I barely notice it. Thank you.

Good to hear and yes, they do look rather freaky the way you first described them.

Don't hesitate to post if you have a question or problem in the future.
