I will have someone review that. Meanwhile, I have removed the link from your comments, we don't want everyone to try this until we're sure it's safe.

I've also been watching this post from the beginning.. um so there was a site and I went through a survey and it gave me the deluxe packaging instead of City Living.. it helped me add packs I didn't have but it wasn't 'City Living'  Why God. Why God.

Surveys suck and if that does work I wonder if we're allowed to know where it is through here?

If you actually got "something" after going through a survey, you are lucky. Most of the time you wouldn't get anything remotely related to what you're expecting. See my latest editorial here.

We don't have anything yet... If we did, you'd know Wink
And we discourgae people from trying those downloads behind surveys because, as you have found out, they are often fake. Your experience could've been worse, if you found out that you downloaded malicious software WhatDidUJustCallMe?

You're right but there was a lot of positive reviews on the page and the video so I tested it out myself and it did go through and my game works perfectly with all the packs. I'm just in a City Living frenzy ever since the first Trailer came out and I don't have money to buy games  Why.

I have asked my teammate to review that Russian page. My own knowledge of TS4 and any problems that can arise is way too limited to have a look at it myself.

The only hope I can offer at this time is, that it will be cracked eventually. We just can't tell you when that will be.

Updating your game to 1.24 is very simple but it won't give you Backyard and City Living.
Logical of course, when you f.e. only possess the legal base game of the Sims 4, you can update to 1.24 but it won't give you access to the DLC's.

Open the folder Game / Bin
Open the File Default with notepad and replace the text by the undermentioned and save the file.

In the meantime I looked at the Russian site in question that Edin pointed me to. The procedure described there involves using modified Origin files, and logging into (hacked?) Origin accounts, in order to play the new DLC. I don't understand Russian sufficiently to get into the technical details of modifying Origin. Apparently, you "only" have to download these modified files and then replace your legit Origin files with them.

What concerns me most, is this: so you obviously need to log into already-existing Origin accounts. How exactly were these credentials obtained? And if you post these usernames + passwords in public, wouldn't the average reader hastily try logging into these accounts and change the account's password, so that he or she can have the account only for themselves then?

From a purely technical standpoint the guide looks interesting, and it may have worked at some point in the past. But someone with the technical knowledge to modify Origin in such a way must also know that posting login credentials in public just isn't going to work, if the procedure hinges on this very detail. Even if we assume that all readers of that guide are nice little kids (or adults) who absolutely would never ever try and take over these accounts, what if the legit account owner decided to change his or her password at some point? Don't use that guide/procedure!

@Saffirah666, for the future, if you want to send something to the team look for the green e-mail buttons in the profiles. You can send (private) messages that way as well. As of currently, me and @SeoY have these e-mail buttons activated, so you have that avenue of communication as well. Please don't post these things in public, though. Smile

P.S. I forgot, you can only use this e-mail contact form when you are logged into the Forum.

My Russian is not as good as it used to be (haha).
From what I understood is that you switch off the internet and then login (off-line) in a modified Origin account (more or less in line with the old 3DM-solution of a dummy-account).
Unfortunately I cannot figure out exactly how this must be done.
Neither the Dutch, nor the English nor the German translation made me any wiser.

Ooh that makes sense I didn't know it had to do anything with that. Maybe the credentials were obtained by willing people or even hacked into [no one knows I guess except those guys] Thank you for looking into it though didn't 100% occur to me that people are gonna be a bit greedy and change the pw/the owner of the account would change it just to do it.

I hope everyone's Sunday is going well and hello lurkers!

I'm not sure if the "security question" in Origin (needed for changing the password) is activated by default. But if it isn't - or if a user is too oblivious of that - then the person who has the password can make all the changes they want...

Does this work with the g4tw sims 4 or only non-pirated?

Well, I guess that depends on who you ask Razz
That is a user-suggested option, and not supported by the G4TW-team. Try at your own risk.
If you need to try something, look here first, and note that neither one of these options will get you City Living.

I looked at the link, though it seems quite useless to me. I already have that version, what I want is an updated version (version 1.24) and wanted to know if what Tarac suggested would work with the cracked game. Thank you though Smile

Well, no. From what I understand, it would only create the illusion of an updated version if you wanted to use cracked DLC with a legit base...

The method can be helpful if you have a legit TS4 base game on Origin, and then it apparently helps avoid renaming the folders under Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4. But that is not what you wanted it seems.

We will have to wait for a proper scene release, concerning the actual 1.24 update files/crack + Backyard stuff + City Living.

Also, about your question before (concerning the Russian site), I did read it. Smile  But I deliberately didn't answer, and Edin eventually got ahead of me on that. The reason I did not, and still don't want to send the link to other people, is because legit Origin accounts might have been hacked here. And I personally wouldn't want to spread this type of site. God knows how many people have seen it already, during the short time window that the original link was posted on here. Yes, I have that kind of decency to not take advantage of people who potentially got their accounts hacked.
