Sims 3 Pets Issues with Crashing and .exe Files

Post by brokenswitchblade on Sat 29 Oct 2011, 21:37

Hello, I'm having frustrating issues with the sims 3 pets, and I've searched the forums and such but I can't seem to find anything helpful.

First, my game would not load any neighborhoods, new or old, so I found the crash/freezes to desktop thread and lowered the graphics and windowed mode etc, etc, which allowed me to load the neighborhoods and create a family. However, before doing so, I tried the whole DEP and .exe thing, but when I got to the "copy-and-paste these file names into the..." etc, the only one that worked was the base game. I have a legitimate copy of the sims 3, and i have downloaded Pets, Ambitions, Generations, WA, and Late Night from g4tw.
I haven't had any problems with downloads from this site before, and am usually pretty good with instructions.
HOWEVER, Evil or Very Mad after creating my family and moving them into a lot, my game now crashes to the desktop.
I am not sure how to fix this, because again, the .exe files don't exist.

Please help D:
Thanks:)

Hello,

Those .exe files might be in an other folder, you should locate them manually. For example, on Windows 7 the path will be C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic... etc etc, but on XP/Vista it'll just be C:\Program Files\Electronic... etc etc, so you need to find it out yourself.

Also, try removing ALL Custom Content and/or Mods, if you have any.

it seems to have worked Very Happy
I feel kind of stupid for not knowing about the folder thing, but I didn't want to go messing with things without knowing what they did.
I didn't have to disable my cc, because I made sure I downloaded only Pets-compatible cc
thanks for the help :DD

I'm very sorry for this, but I am terrible with computers.. what are .exe files and what do I do with them? How do I find them?

Once I have them located, am I supposed to delete them or something?

Please and thank you!
