Sims3 Installation

Post by .pointer on Mon 26 Dec 2011, 18:57

Hey Support,

I completely reset my computer, so I lost all the files on there including Sims3 and expansions.
Yesterday I just downloaded all the files of The Sims 3 again, so also all the (stuff)expansions.
Just downloaded the ones from Piratebay.org from Games4theworld ofcourse. Now I'm glad it's downloaded and started installing.
It's now setting up Sims3 Basegame. It's just going fine. But I wondered, after reading the message on the Must-Read area, how I had to install it again..
- Install basegame -> no problem
- Install Expansions this and this -> here it comes. It said in the post 'Do EXACTLY what's mentioned below' but, installing those expansions (I thought Late Night, Pets and Generations), do I have to follow the Instruction file included in the downloaded files? Because those Instructions mention I have to apply cracks.. But at the post it said I just had to set up everthing and then apply a Ultimate Fix or somethin'
So, do I have to just setup everything by mounting the .Iso file and then go on until the last file and apply ultimate fix,
Or do I have to do everything mentioned in the instruction file and do apply cracks?
And has the correct thing to be applied at EVERY sims3 expansion/stuffpack/basegame?

Secondly, I downloaded the Store Updates from piratebay from games4theworld too. But I've been told it's awful to your game when you apply any of extra content; it would disturb/block/crash etc. your game. Anything about that? Is it safe to install a content pack from Games4theworld?

I look foward to hearing from you,

Hello,

First of all, yes, you should follow the instructions that came with the torrent on how to install the games, just don't apply any cracks. (If you did already apply a crack, it's OK)
You also have to change the SKU code where needed.
And also note this:
Admin wrote:(When
installing WA, just skip the "# Crack" folder AND when installing Late
Night, ignore the Installation Guide, which says you need to reinstall
everything)

The Store Updates have been tested with our version of the game(s) and they should work just fine.
Good luck and please let me know if I can provide more assistance!

''installing WA, just skip the "# Crack" folder''

This was the reason I was being confused: because it sais 'Installing World Adventures (especially)' so I thought just at WA.. Wink
Oke thanks for the answer, now I'm just installing every set up and after that I'll do the SKU changes.
Thanks for the assistance! I'll report it when I've got anymore problems!

I succeeded and everything is working fine Wink
Updating via the Starter failed, but that's no big deal. Only thing is I can't install Riverview because it sais the version is too old but that doesn't really matter Wink

Hello,

In order to update the game, please use the latest version of our Ultimate Fix in combination with this manual Patch: http://games4theworld.bestgoo.com/t1870-can-t-update-the-sims-3-to-v129-fix-manual-patch-updated

Thanks both of you! Wink
I see the Riverview download is via Ad.ly and then to Mediafire. Mediafire is offline for some time, they think 'till 3:30. I'll just download it later Wink
Something else, is that I played sims 3 like 3 times. Everytime I create a sim, pick a house, and when I place some stuff, anything, so chair, bed etc, it hangs while it actually has to just put the bed were I placed it and go on, but it just doesn't react anymore on anything. I can move the mousecursor, but it won't react on anything I click. And when I go to TaskManager it says 'Sims 3 doesn't react anymore
- Quit sims 3
- Search for solutions at the internet

This is quite irritating since it takes some time for Sims3 to load the game, and following load your neighbourhood.
Does the Patch fix this?
Big patch btw its 900 mb sized that's quite much for a patch Razz

Greet

Hello,
This sounds like something that could happen if you're using a low-end pc that only just meets the requirements. If that's the case, close any unneeded programs that are running in the background. A free tool like gamebooster can do it for you.

Re: Sims3 Installation

Post by .pointer on Thu 29 Dec 2011, 12:00

Well, I think my pc cán run the pc requirements. I hope so.
Actually I bought this laptop just to play Sims 3. I've also recently (1 week ago) reset my pc. I've got approx. 300 GB free space. When I play Sims 3 I close all background apps, shut down everything which has to do with Wi-Fi (Msn, Internet, Hamachi) and have nothing running than Sims 3.
Before sims 3 was also working, I think already 6 months ago. So I don't know what's the exact problem. Maybe it's *verouderde* drivers?
Here the info about my pc

300 GB harddisk space left
500 in total
3.75 GB ram
Notebook model Acer Aspire 5542
Processor: AMD Athlon(TM) II Dual-Core M300 2GHz
Type system: 64 Bit

Any suggestions on this?

I guess there's more but can't find it. I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium. When you need more info just say where I can find it and I'll search for it.
I guess it's ATI too but like I said I can't find any type of it.
Sims3.com says Windows Vista needs 2.4 GHz and 1.5GB ram. When you see Vista as Windows 7 my processor is below minimal requirement, but the rest ís high enough and most is higher.
I will download PC booster and look whether it has any difference.

Hello,
Actually I'm on a low-end XP system, my processor is below requirements and I'm not experiencing many problems running The Sims 3.
Make sure your graphics drivers are up to date though, if they aren't, that could be the source of your problem.

Yes thats why I thought it was strange too at my old very-low-end PC which was created with older PC's could run it easily too, though I had to buy a new video card voor Shaders 2.0+ haha Wink
Next time I buy a PC instead of a Laptop, I don't really like laptops for gaming.. It's more useful for school I is confused

I'll go and play sims 3 within a hour because I still have to apply the patch and video drivers are updating right now. I'll let you now the results.

Hello,
I never found much use for a laptop myself. Its ok for surfing the web while I sit on the couch, but not for games. I'm saving up to build a new pc.
Good luck with the patch and the drivers.

Re: Sims3 Installation

Post by .pointer on Thu 29 Dec 2011, 12:51

Yes I figured out the same haha :p

---
Drivers: Updated
Patch: Applicated
Sims 3: Not working

I opened up Sims 3 again. Launcher starts. First thing it says is 'There's a new patch available. Download now?' I press the NO button.
Click on the > which is the sign to start the game. 'Error; Please insert Game disk Pets'
Open up Daemon tools and mount Startddisk because its not useful to mount a .RAR pets file. It doesn't seem to work anymore!
So now I applied the crack again of Pets but still doesn't work.
Any ideas?

Hello,

There's no need to Mount anyhting in order to play the game.
Just use this Fix to update your game to the latest version and make it all work: http://games4theworld.bestgoo.com/t752-the-sims-3-ultimate-fix-should-fix-most-of-your-problems

For future reference - How to open a .rar file:

Please open the .rar file you downloaded using only WinRar, which can be downloaded from www.games4theworld.org . (If you use any other software than WinRar, like WinZip or 7-zip, the files will get messed up!)
When
you've opened the file using WinRar, select áll the files in it and
drag & drop them to a folder on your Desktop. When the extraction is
done, close the .rar file and open the folder on your Desktop.
Now,
start by reading the included "# Installation Guide.txt" and you should
be able to get the game to work yourself. Good luck!

I already applied the patch and ultimate fix. Though, I first applied the ultimate fix till the last step but skipped step 13. After that I applied the manual patch. Do I have to do the entire Ultimate Fix again?

--- EDIT ---
I applied the entire Ultimate Fix again. The manual patch is applied already.
Why I installed the manual patch and not just via the launcher? I got some error code via the launcher and so chose the Manual Patch. But now my sims game isn't working anymore.. Sad

Yes, I am.

Geen speldisk gevonden! Voer de speldisk van De Sims (TM) 3 Beestenbende in voordat je verder gaat.
No gamedisc found! Put in the gamedisk of The Sims (TM) 3 Pets before continueing! (or something like that I'm not very good at translating Wink)

Hello,

Please open the "# Crack" folder in the .rar file of the Fix you downloaded. In there, open the other folder.
Now, you'll see a .dll and a .exe file, right? Select both files and drag & drop (Copy) them to exactly: C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Game\Bin and choose "Replace" (Or "Vervangen") on the pop-up that appears, telling you the files already exist.

Start the game and it should work fine. Good luck!
