Install Windows 7 on a uefi BIOS

Post by lulliepop on Wed 08 Mar 2017, 20:37

Hi all,

I can't find a thread that adresses this issue or a trusted guide on google, I want to know if there is a way to install your Windows 7 all editions on a computer with a uefi BIOS.

Thanks and sorry if this issue has been resolved before.

P.S: Excuse the mistakes. English is my second language.
Embarrassing...

Hello and welcome to the forum.
Sorry it took so long to get back to you Sad

Could you be more specific as to where you are using this UEFI BIOS? What machine?
I honestly don't see why it would not work...

Hi there,

If you're looking for creating a bootable drive that supports UEFI, you can download Rufus. I use it all the time in creating bootable drives for Windows and even Linux. You just need to have an ISO of Windows.

Hi, thanks for your answers. I have a Lenovo Thinkpad X260 that comes with Windows 7 but not in my language, so I want to change the installation. Thing is, when I create the bootable USB and try to install, it says is not UEFI compatible.
I don't know much about hardware so I can't explain better.

Sorry, that seems a bit vague, and hard to help in these conditions...
