I need some help with my Sims 3 game.

Post by alice92705 on Sun 12 Mar 2017, 23:12

I downloaded my expansions through kickass and I finally got it all installed. When I go to run the game it will show a black screen and a spinning circle then after some time a message pops up saying

Sims 3 has stopped working
A problem caused the program to stop working correctly

I'm running on windows 10 on an HP if that helps.... I don't know what to do....
Can someone help me please? Help The Sims Plumbob 1

Mod edit: moved to the right section.

Check your graphics card.
If it is an Intel HD Graphics it's most probably not suited for the Sims 3 with all expansions.

Hello,

That shouldn't matter, we've never heard of this particular thing being the problem.

What @Tarac suggests might be it though, best to start at the bottom and work your way up to find out what your system can handle. More particularly in this case, your graphics.

Is the base game-only working for you, then?

Hello again,

Have a look at this website here, it'll allow you to run a test that will immediately make it clear whether your PC is up to the task of running a game.
You will get clear results within minutes. That's not to say their recommendation is always 100% correct, but it will give you a general idea of the issue, should it be caused by your hardware.

Apologies, that's the wrong link. It's this one here.
You can skip to the part where it says "cleaning up leftover folders". Basically, what you're going to do is, you're going to delete the game folders, and run a registry cleaner to fix the rest.
