Error after adding Vampires; "Windows cannot access the specified device" ...

Post by sneezydogman on Sun 21 May 2017, 17:31

I get this when trying to launch The Sims 4 after adding the Toddlers/Vampires/Bowling download. I added everything correctly, the way I have with everything else.
Also, whenever this error comes up, it will delete the game's launch file. (32 and 64 bit) I've checked permissions and they are all fine, as well as tried every compatibility mode.
What do I do?

Are you running a 32 bit lap top? Are you running as administrator?

The file TS4.exe might have been "safeguarded" by your anti-virus.
Try to start the game with TS4_x64.exe instead.

Please read these instructions about Antivirus goodies and what needs to be excluded!
Important.

I believe this post and the above should be merged. Nonetheless, what Tarac said is right. It seems your anti-virus had indeed safeguard it and deletes it in the process.
