Sims 3 Pets requires disk to play

Post by dtmoss on Tue 03 Jan 2012, 01:32

Downloaded sims 3 base game. Worked perfectly.
Then downloaded sims 3 generations. Again worked perfectly.
Downloaded sims 3 pets (full) not fixed.. downloaded the fix provided at piratebay.org.
Followed all directions carefully & correctly.

Now, I can't load my sims because it requires a disk to play. It says "please insert Sims 3 Pets disk to continue"...
How do I fix this?

Have windows 7, it DID update when I installed it, as it was required? and wouldn't let me continue without updating..?

Also, I'm curious,
Can I fix this problem by installing another expansion thereby bypassing the sims 3 pets disk needed.

Or do I have to uninstall and reinstall the fixed sims 3 pets?
If so, I cannot seem to find the uninstall in my sims 3 pets unzipped folder... can anyone tell me where it is? Or how to uninstall?

Thank you.

Followed suggested links BUT i get "invalid file error" after updating sims 3.
Also, popup says that my sims 3 as well as "it looks like you have installed an unofficial game modification that does not match your current version of the sims 3. We recommend that you either uninstall these game mods or get updated versions of them, otherwise you may experience crashes or bugs. Quit or continue?"

So I continue and it crashes.

Hello,
Update manually to get around the "invalid file" error.
Make sure you use the official ultimate fix, the downloadlink at the top of the page Admin linked you to. The temporary fix might cause the "unofficial game modification" error, but outdated mods will do the same, so if you're using any, please make sure they're compatible with your game version.
