Parenthood Update Problem [SOLVED]

Post by VintageFan007 on Sat 10 Jun 2017, 15:46

I downloaded the new update and dragged and dropped all the files into my game. However, when I load the game up, it says the pack is being downloaded and will notify me when it's ready. When I go into the actual gameplay, it gives the option of the pack but says I do not own it.

Hello there,  Surprised

I'm assuming since you've mentioned the new update it's actually this and not the update only fix.

Also, double checking that you have actually installed Parenthood prior to installing the update above. If no, you can download it here and if yes, try re-installing the Parenthood again.

Make sure you've added the files/folders to your exception list or you've turn off the anti-virus.

I couldn't find a more appropriate topic to post this, but I recently downloaded Parenthood and the update and everything is working fine for the most part except most of the actual parenthood activities and objects don't work?
The parenting actions don't show up between any socialising sims aside from Lecture about Bad Behaviour and while I can buy the new objects, I can't really use most of them.
If I try to write in the journal or work on a school project, the game says there's no space or my sim complains about not being able to get there.
My value characteristics also do not change. No matter what I do, they're always plain grey all the time.
Any way I can fix all of this?

Do you have any mods for your game? If yes, then move them out and test the game. If not,

  • Parenting skills options will increase as you level up. Click on a child the sim and choose more options, the 'parenting' dialogue option should show up and you can expand the choices.
  • There's actually nothing much for toddlers to do. Even if you teach them stuffs their value won't go up much.
  • Try to put the school objects outside (backyard) and the journal on the floor to see if the sim is able to go there or pick them up.

If all else fails, re-install Parenthood followed by the latest patch here.

I had a sim with level 9 parenting and it still had no proper options xD
children and teens also couldn't get value characteristics to change and I did try the backyard things. I will try the latest update and let you know Smile thank you so much for the help <3
