The Sims 3 Serious Error. [SOLVED]

Post by khalypsuh on Sat 07 Jan 2012, 15:47

Ok, i don't know if you remember me, I talked about this on another topic, so I decided to open my own. I installed The Sims 3 with all the expansions and stuff packs, following the "how to install the sims 3 correctly" guide, and applied the ultimate fix, everything went fine, then i created a game a and saved it, using the save option instead of save & exit, to make sure that wasn't the problem, and when I came back to load the game it said "A serious error has occured while loading apaloosaplains.sims3 ´. We strongly recommend that you restart the application" and it came back to main menu. I tried installing that mod, that Lady Eldi suggested to other people, the error trap, I installed it correctly, downloaded that other .rar file to create the mods folder in my sims 3 folder in my documents and put the .package file from the error trap there, but the game still doesn't load. I dont know what else to do, I've even emailed EA games but they don't seem to answer me, it's been a week already. Oh and I don't have any costum content btw.

Hello,
What if you created a new save game with the error trap in place?

Hello,

What if you remove the world and re-download it from our official MediaFire account?

Re: The Sims 3 Serious Error. [SOLVED]

Yes it does Smile
I got that message too when I just didn't save correctly; just while saving my laptop shutted down and then I got that error.
I know a possible solution:
- Go to (my) documents
- You'll find the Electronic Arts folder there. Open it up. Open sims3 folder up too.
- Now you'll see a list of folders. Scroll down to ''Saves''
- You'll see '*gamename*' and '*gamename.Backup*'.
- Copy both files to somewhere safe.
- Delete '*gamename*' and rename '*gamename.Backup*' to '*gamename*'. Enter sims 3 again and try whether it works.

Doesn't work? Second possible solution:
- Make a new sims world.
- Create a sim, choose a house and save&quit it.
- Go to documents, sims 3, Saves and open up the *new gamename* folder.
- Copy the Meta.Data folder and paste it in your normal save file. (copy and change will pop up, just select that)
- Try again whether its working

When it doesn't your save file is officially broken Sad Next time you could when making some new world, so now and then copy and paste your .Backup file for extra safity (;

When a new world gives the same problem directly after saved I dunno it either.

The problem is not the world, if it was, the error would be with apaloosaplains.world, and it was apaloosaplains.sims3, which means that the problem was the whole save, also it happens with every world.
.pointer, it saved correctly, it does this everytime i try to load a saved game. I tried doing that, but there's no backup file in my saves folder, and I can't make another save and copy the meta.data file, cause when I create a new game and save it I can't load it anymore, it always gives me that error, that's my problem.

No, I mean it different Wink

You create a new world. CAS, get in live in a house and save+quit.
Then go to Documents -> EA -> Sims 3 -> Saves -> the name of the just saved file should be here, else it's impossible sims3 recognises even a save Wink
Hard to explain, maybe you should google on it.

Hello,
If that doesn't work, you can try backing up the save game before exiting the game by switching to a different folder using alt-tab, then backing up the saves folder before going back to the game and exiting.

I don't think I got it. If I create a new world and save a game there it will do the same thing WhatDidUJustCallMe?

Hello,
Yes that' exactly what I mean. This has been known to work in some "error code 12" cases, maybe it can make a difference and it doesn't hurt to try.

Re: The Sims 3 Serious Error. [SOLVED]

Post by Aɾყα on Wed 11 Jan 2012, 16:26

Hello,
I'm doing a google search at the moment and here's what's come up:

Alright i'm pretty sure i've found out the problem! I've got System Mechanic and it runs a program called System Guard and System Shield. They kinda work like Norton's Live Protection or whatever it's called. Anyway it watches what's running to catch viruses and what not. Well I turned those off and now my game works fine. Idk what it is that those programs are blocking...or changing...but it looks like it's causing some kind of issue with reloading saved games. You guys might want to try this as a solution with everyone else who has this problem as I saw a similar fix on the forums. I'd say turn off everything else that's running in the background and test the game.

Let's try this, also:

1. Click Start or press the Windows key and R, click Run, type msconfig, and then click OK.
2. Click on Startup.
3. Select disable All.
4. Click on Services.
5. Check the box that says Hide All Microsoft Services, then Disable All.
6. Apply, then restart your system.

It worked for this person.

Hello,
I'm starting to run out of ideas myself. At this point, you can decide to try a reinstall, or ask Admin to have a look with teamviewer.
