The Sims 2 Stubborn Uninstallation

Post by kkilla on Tue 27 Jun 2017, 20:07

I've already uninstalled a few of the Sims 2 EPs and SPs successfully, but there are some that just won't uninstall.
I tried deleting these downloads countless times through the control panel. I also attempted to delete the downloads by going into its folder and clicking on the "eauninstall.exe". Neither of those methods worked. I would get messages like: "Did this download correctly?", "Would you like to use compatible settings?" and etc. After clicking on some of the options, nothing would happen - there's no window showing/telling me that these EPs and SPs have successfully uninstalled.
List of EPs & SPs I'm having issues with uninstalling:

  • Sims 2 H&M Fashion stuff
  • Sims 2 Double Deluxe
  • Sims 2 IKEA
  • Sims 2 Kitchen & Bath
  • Sims 2 Mansion and Garden stuff
  • Sims 2 Teen style stuff

And yes, this is the cracked version of the game from thepiratebay.

Hello and welcome to the Forum,

A nice guide can be found here for uninstalling The Sims 2:
http://simswiki.info/wiki.php%3Ftitle%3DGame_Help:Uninstall

In general though, try avoiding uninstalling stuff on Windows OS, because if it's not done properly it can lead to more problems down the road. Maybe you uninstalled the DLC because you didn't like them; but it's always a good idea to think in advance what DLC you actually want to have, before you even start installing.

Also, don't forget to re-boot the computer once you did the procedure from the guide linked to.

In such cases I always use the free program Revo Uninstaller.
