Same error occurring after trying several different solutions. :(

Unable to start:
Origin is currently not running. Please make sure that Origin is running before attempting to play The Sims 4.

I've installed the base game and all the TS4 expansions and stuff packs by carefully following the instructions given in this guide. I have now uninstalled and reinstalled twice.

Tried Running the game as Administrator.
I've installed the No-Origin files. Didn't help me.
I've tried The Sims 4 Ultimate Fix. Didn't work.
I've deleted the GameVersion.txt out of Documents>Electronic Arts>Sims 4. Still, didn't help.
I've moved my Sims 4 folder out of Documents. Also did not help me.
I don't have Origin installed to my computer. I uninstalled it as well as the base game I purchased.

I have TeamViewer, if it would make helping me fix this easier for you.

Hi there,


Have you tried manually uninstalling the Origin to complete erase traces of origin? Also, double checking that your Sims 4 should now be at Program Files(x86)\The Sims 4.


The Ultimate Fix will actually delete all your DLCs, in case you feel like re-installing again. Just a heads up.

Most important: Have you MOVED your install folder The Sims 4 out of c:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts ?
