"The Sims 4 has stopped working" immediately after launching the game

Post by Magpie Queen on Sat 12 Aug 2017, 23:13

Hi! I've come up with a problem and after reading every single thread I could find regarding this issue I'm still nowhere. It's "The Sims 4 has stopped working" error message, which appears every time I've tried to open the game, regardless of how I've tried. I followed the install instructions to the letter (or I'm pretty sure I did, anyway.)

I've installed everything, including Fitness Stuff

This the error message:
Spoiler:

This is how my folder looks so far:

Spoiler:

This is what I've tried so far:

  • Adding the folders to my exclusion list on the antivirus.
  • Disabling my antivirus. (Windows Defender)
  • Compatibility mode
  • Opening the game as admin
  • Changing locations of the /The Sims 4 folder
  • Renaming the folders
  • Deleting all my mods and CC
  • Deleting all save files and tray
  • Downloading another version of the /Game folder, provided by Tarac
  • I uninstalled everything and installed it again
  • Twice
  • Applied the latest available "No Origins" files
  • Cried a bit

I'm pretty sure, too, that I probably missed writing some stuff on the list, so I'll keep an eye out.

I don't have Origins installed, by the way. Never had, and it worked perfectly before. I'm just... lost. I created two Sims, realized City Living didn't show up correctly, copied my stuff, reinstalled the game + city living + everything else and it just died.

Help?

I do not see the new game file in there . It looks as if you have renamed the file (Game_) but the game file which comes with fitness stuff is missing. That one should be called Game.this one is also the one from Tarac.

Downloading another version of the /Game folder, provided by Tarac   ( where is it?)

After parenthood you are supposed to delete the game file. Than install fitness stuff and start the game from the fitness stuff game file (or the one from Tarac)/ bin/ TS4.Exe / ( or TS4.64.exe ) right click and run as administrator.

it is not necessary to delete the mods folder. Just move it to the desktop. Smile

You are missing the Game folder
Extract with Winrar, copy the folder Game to your install folder
Start your game as an Administrator from the folder Game\Bin\TS$.exe or TS4_x64.exe  (make a new shortcut)
You can delete the folder Game_
