setup.msi error?

setup.msi error?
I've been following this site for a while now, and I love your fixes for The Sims 3. Now this time around, I decided to try out The Sims 4 and so I torrented the base game only, as it's what I want for now.
However, I ran into a problem. After the torrent is finished, I clicked on the Sims 4 setup program and went into the usual business. However, as soon as it got to the installation part, I ran into an error with the setup.msi file. To put it simply, here's the said error.

Any ideas on how to fix this? Thanks in advance.
P.S.: I used WinRAR to extract the RAR in the torrent.

Re: setup.msi error?
Hi there,
I'm seeing alot of winrar archive (type file). When extracted, those should be .CAB fie instead. You should also click on The_Sims_4_Setup.exe to install the game. Try restarting your pc and see if you're able to complete the installation afterwards.

Re: setup.msi error?
Oh, those WinRAR files? Yeah, those are the .cab files, the setup ones. And indeed, I do click it from The_Sims_4_Setup.exe. Just restarted my laptop, and the error still persists.
Maybe if it still persists, I should just redownload the game again.

Re: setup.msi error?
I see. I found this on another forum, not related to game installation however. Worth a look?
- Code:
The 1632 error is triggered when the "Temp folder is either full or inaccessible. Verify that the Temp folder exists and that you can write to it."
Can you please check if there is such a problem with the %temp% folder location on your end-user account?

Re: setup.msi error?
Holy mother of llamas, it wasn't just the Temp folder too. Apparently there was a problem with the %windir%/Installer folder since I deleted it so I created a new folder with the same name and now it works. Thank you so much for the help and taking the time to help, Ageha!

I'll keep this topic open in case you have other problems while installing or in-game.
Cheers

Hey,@Sims4Newbie wrote:I keep getting this "vcredist.exe" error
If you open up the Program Files(x86)\The Sims 4\__Installer , you should find two folders under vc, installed both of those programs and it should make the error disappear.
EDIT:
@Sims4Newbie : Hey, so I saw you had already solved the above from the link Tarac had posted in another thread. Are there any other errors you're facing during installation or in-game?
