Msvcp120.dll error or unable to start (solution founded for I5 processors)

Post by Sandra29 on Wed 27 Sep 2017, 07:16

I followed install instructions but still got the Msvcp120.dll error or unable to start. After countless  searches I found the solution to my problem. Make sure your .net framework is upgraded 4.5 or higher and C++ aswell (I upgraded my from windows site). After I upgraded both my Sims 4 is working now.

Hello and welcome to the Forum @Sandra29! Very Happy

Thanks for sharing the hint! I think though, that the C++ runtimes are part of the official Windows updates though? Not sure about the .NET framework. But usually it's a good idea to fetch all available Windows updates.

I think running the 2 vcredist.exe's would have been sufficient.
