The Sims 3: Master Suite - Crashes to Desktop from Buy Mode

Post by ghostflowers-x on Fri 24 Feb 2012, 17:34

First off, THANK YOU GUYS SO MUCH! I am so thankful for everything you do!

Alright, now with the problem. I downloaded and installed the Sims 3 base game, along with WA, NL, High-End Loft Stuff, and Master Suite. Everything went really smoothly while downloading and installing, I applied the Ultimate Fix and the game was working really great until I moved my sim into a house and tried to click on something during Buy Mode. It froze up for a few minutes, then came up with "Sims 3 is not responding" and I had to exit out. I've searched for a solution to this problem, but haven't been able to find anything yet. I would be so grateful your help!

//EDIT

Whoops, didn't mean to put "Master Suite" in the title... sorry about that.

Hello,
Commonly this is caused by an outdated crack. Are you also getting the unofficial game modification when you start the game?

Nope, everything else is good.

EDIT: // Come to think of it, there has been some trouble with stuff in CAS disappearing while I'm making my sim. I'd applied an eyeliner to my sim and while I was working on my traits, I noticed that she was no longer wearing it. Has anyone had problems like that before?

hello,
Have a look here to find several things you can do to deal with crashing issues.
Do you have mods/cc?

No mods or CC at all, I just installed this all last night and started playing when I ran into the crash problem.

I just tried the third solution, dealing with the video card. Restarted and it still isn't working. I'll try the DEP stuff and get back to you.

//EDIT

Alright, ran into a problem with DEP. I opened up system and system properties, but when I go to the "Data Execution Prevention" tab, everything is grayed out and it won't let me choose an option. It says at the bottom: "To use these settings, you must be a computer administrator and you must use the bcdedit.exe file."

The kicker is, I tried to open bcdedit.exe and it won't open. It comes up for a split second, then closes. Any ideas on how to help?

Figured
out the problem with bcdedit.exe. Just needed to type it into the
Command Prompt for it to come up properly. I'm kind of unsure as to what
else to do to help the DEP problem though, once I typed in bcdedit, a
list came up that I don't know what to do with. Any ideas?

Yeah, I'm pretty sure at least. Any way I can check for sure?

//EDIT

Nevermind, I know for a fact that I'm the administrator.

//EDIT

Alright, I've fixed the grayed out DEP tab. Now I'll start adding things
and I'll let you know how it turns out. Thanks so much for your help!

//EDIT

Restarted my PC and brought up the game, and it still crashed on that same spot. :/ I'm not sure what else to do.

//EDIT

Changed the graphic settings in the game to low. Still crashed. I have a
feeling that it may be Master Suite Stuff that's messing things up...
if so, I may just download a different expansion (Pets, Town-Life,
Generations) so I can apply a different crack to the game/bin folder.

Admin edit: DO NOT DOUBLE-POST/SPAM, BUT USE THE "Edit" BUTTON ON YOUR MESSAGE INSTEAD! Thank you.

- ADMIN

//EDIT

Alright, reapplied the crack using "Town Life Stuff". Still it crashed. And sorry about the spamming, this is the first time I've ever posted in a forum before.

Hello,
You'll use the same crack for Pets/ town Life stuff or Generations.
I'd like to see a screenshot of the folder you copied the crack to though, can you take one that has the details of the files in the folder and post it here?
