Serious Error - Starlight Shores

Post by theaquallama on Sun 11 Mar 2012, 18:31

Hello, I'm sorry if this has already been answered, but I couldn't find any help on any forum for the life of me. I saw some people had similar issues but none that fit my problem exactly.

I just downloaded Showtime a few nights ago from thepiratebay.org and then stupidly downloaded the update when it came out. I downloaded and applied a crack today that I found somewhere on the internet.
I started a new game and played for a bit but when I went back to load the game back up, I get the "Serious error" message. My sim family shows up and everything though so it's not that particular family. So then I tried to make a new game with a new family but the same thing happened. I think it's the town, Starlight Shores. Because I loaded up a previous game in an older town just fine. I really would like to play in the new town so does anyone have any suggestions? I really appreciate it.

Try applying the latest version of the Ultimate Fix, which has been updated an hour ago: http://games4theworld.bestgoo.com/t752-the-sims-3-ultimate-fix-should-fix-most-of-your-problems

Well I opened it back up again just now to get an answer for you and it just crashed seconds after the game loaded so I guess it's not always the same but the times before it seemed to crash right after she woke up and it turned daylight. (I save while they're sleeping)

I tried running it in compatibility mode and it didn't crash on me, probably because there was no custom content. It's probably some cc I downloaded. I'm off to figure out which file it is yaaaaay

Hello,

Start with Delphy's Dashboard. It doesn't pick up on all conflicts, but most of them.

Re: Serious Error - Starlight Shores

Post by theaquallama on Fri 16 Mar 2012, 15:13

It didn't do anything for me because 98% of my cc are .sims3pack files, not .package. .package files slow my game down tremendously. Thanks for the suggestion though. I'm not so sure it is my cc anymore because I ran the game with cc off and it still crashes. I even deleted the sims 3 folder from my documents to be sure, still crashes. Anyone have any more ideas? I tried the DEP thing and I tried running it in windows 95 compatibility mode, running it in 95 worked but it gets rid of all my cc and about every 3 hours (sim time) it stops for a good 1 minute (real time) and then keeps going.

Hello,

There appear to be some issues with patch 1.32, you may have to wait for the new fix so you can patch further, though this (1.33) patch seems to be causing issues as well.

Hello,

That patch isn't going to work now, so you'll have to wait for the new fix.

Yeah I know, I've been waiting this long, what's another couple of days. tongue

//EDIT

Bah didn't do anything. In fact, I'm now back to my original problem. But that was true even before I updated.

Hello,

These problems started when you updated to 1.32 right? Do you happen to know whether you've used the superpatcher?

but I thought it wouldn't manually patch it because it's already up to date? Or are you asking if that is how I updated?

Hello,

If you use the latest version of the manual patch, you could always re-patch. There's no harm in doing so, anyway.
