Re: Problems with cats after installing showtime and store content oddities

When I removed the Sims 3 folder, loaded a new game, saved and then loaded it, it worked perfectly fine. But when I moved some old saved games into the new Sims 3 folder, the serious error message came up when I tried to load those. So there's a problem with the old saves then? Because I tried playing a game with the old Sims 3 folder, and it works like a charm. It's only when I try to load the old games that I'd saved before updating that I get that error message.

Hello,

And what if you saved a new game, and tried to load that later, does the same issue come up?

No. If I save a new game and load it, it works just fine. It's only with the games that I saved before I updated my game that do that. The "serious error" message started after I updated to 1.33.

My advice is to save all your saved games in a separate folder outside your game folder as a backup and wait for a new patch and see if the problem gets resolved.

Alright, I guess I'll do that then. I've started a new game anyways. Just hope that this one won't get corrupted...

//EDIT

Hello,

I started a new game yesterday, played for a bit, and it worked smoothly, loaded fine. Then when I came back today, I tried to load it, and the "serious error" thing came up again. I tried everything that was suggested, but nothing works. I can still start a new game, but I can't load any of the games that I previously saved, even the ones I started after I updated my game.

Hello,

Did you ever set your game to run in compatibility mode? And did you do that for Showtime as well after you installed it?

No, I've never run anything in compatibility mode. It's always worked fine without it.

Since your new game is working OK, even after a save the issue is with the saves, something that happened along the way of the patches, people are only able to play with their new games if after the patch the old ones are giving them trouble. Like I said, hold on to see if a new patch comes along and how well is working. EA has already pulled the 1.32 completely, due to numerous issues.
Keep on cheking in at this site for the newest updates.

What I meant was that the new game started having problems too. So now I don't want to start another new game and have that one run into problems too because I can't load any saved games right now, even the one that I started after the patch which was working until this morning when it gave me a serious error message while loading. I guess I'll just stop playing for a while until a new patch comes along.
